Ok so this is a bit of fun and not to be taken to seriously...

I'm just curious as to which Ferrari production models generally retail above the original base MSRP.

So on some of the special stuff and really early stuff it's obvious. E.g. 288 GTO!!!!

Be interesting to see what ones you feel are on average retailing above there original MSRP

Things will get interesting from the late 1970's onwards I guess, as I think all of the stuff pre that will be way above MSRP

So let's focus on 1975 onwards.....

Who wants to start us off

And remember this is a bit of fun not a big debate on options and condition, let's say for arguments sake we are talking average running condition for the age of car.

    Regards

    Michael

1980 308GTS would have cost about £ 17500 - value today x4 or x5 - been above cost for at least 25 years

Post 70's I think you're looking at the special cars, F40, F50, Enzo etc., the regular run cars are all going to sticker out higher than their current selling price. Brand new stuff also probably at list +, but most won't ever stay there. Too many cars in the production runs to make them appreciate.

I'm sure if one of the very few manual trans californias came up for sale, it would sell for over msrp.

Not now, but in the near future I expect manual 456M's and 612's to be back to sticker prices. Same for the 360 and 430 sticks.

I think most production Ferraris available to the general public have always been $200-400K in today's dollars, if you punch the values in an inflation calculator. So, keep that in mind when you see an older Ferrari that seems to be selling today for more that it was worth back in the day.

So the guy who bought his 308 for $50K back in the '70's and is now selling it for $60K, is still losing money.

I bought my 308 GTB new in '85. Take the same dollars invested in the S&P 500 since then and I'd have over $1.5M instead of a 308 worth south of $100k.
