I'd be up for lunch somewhere on the coast on Sunday. I'm meeting a friend at nine in Napa for about an hour. Then I was planning on heading to the coast and north. No real plan, just looking to go for a drive and find a cool place to eat maybe take some pictures along the way. So I guess I'm game.
Dan: I won't get the 360 into California until 8/10, when I'm on my way to Monterey. I'll take a rain check. Art
Dan: Going to Tahoe this weekend, then next weekend to visit the poor 360 that has been abandoned in a cold and dark airplane hanger in Ashland, Oregon. Seriously thanks for the offer. I will take you up on it sometime this summer, since I don't have a Ferrari in California anymore. That will change on August 10th, when I get to drive it to concorso. Art
My Dino is still in the shop getting fixed up for August. I look forward to coming out for a drive late early June...
Dont' know about you guys but here was my drive today: Oakville grade to Sonoma for coffee and pick up a friend. Bodega bay for fresh crab then tomales bay for oysters and back to Napa for a nice glass of cab. Lots of backroads and very little traffic.
Vincent, I am growing increasingly concerned about the reckless amount of milege that you seem to be putting on your new car. I feel like I may have failed in my attempts to bring you over to the " other side " where the garage queens live. Well I guess when you wear your car out completely, you know where you can find a low milege replacement. Bill
Gah, you guys are killing me. Art: you show me how to drive the 550, I'll show you how to drive your kart! Norman: Let me know if I can do anything. Call me when you get back. Vincent and I will have to have some fun this weekend. You know what, I'm going to sit down and break out that list I had of like 40 drivers. It's abotu damn time... --Dan
Let do a drive on the 5th or 6th. What do you guys think about that date, Vincent, Norman, etc? Dan: If its ok, I'll ride with you. As for the cart, I'm taking a class in driving on the 11th at Sears. Feel free to show up, and we'll find some time for you in the cart. If you've got my email, drop me a note, or pm me here. Art
I'll be in Sonoma for the Vintage car races at Infineon on the 5th/6th. Depending on where you guys decide for the drive, you might want to stop by. Gil
5th or 6th should be good! Do we have a destination in mind? Do you guys know Marshall road wich is between Petulamu and Tomales bay? Haven't done it yet, but it might be fun. Also, I'm up for another Atwater extravanganza sometime. I'm having cart withdrawals. Been too long since I've driven something that makes my eyes jump out of my head. What's up with this course on the 11th? Art, if you have time forward me those sites where you can purchase race suits etc.... Thanks,
You should see the smile on my face as I keep the mileage as low as I can. Only about 3000 miles in six weeks, that's not so bad is it. Should slow down a bit now that I'm going cross country for a while.
Vincent: Drop me an email at [email protected]. I've apparently lost your email address. I'll send you the info. I've got all of that at home. 6/11 is a day when I & Jeff will be at Sears Point. We've hired an instructor to teach us the finer points of driving, since we apparently need the instruction. I've gotten a bit quicker since I saw you last, but I still need improvement. An example: when I saw you last, I was lapping Sears at 56.5 seconds. I've gotten to 53s, but need to get to 51 to be competitive, and 50s to work for the lead. The instruction should help. Art
Sounds good to me. Vincent- I grew up in Petaluma, and belive it or not never made it out that road! I will scout it out.
Vincent: Here is another location for the carting suit: http://www.kartsltd.com/products/apparel/g-force.htm#Karting%20Suits Art
