Because some people want to fully drive their car, not just push buttons.

Yes lap times matter, but challenging the driver does also!

how does this car share engine with rs yet not need the side intakes that rs shares with the tt?

could Porsche be putting styling ahead of function?

In my opinion, and I could certainly be wrong, think that the RS has TT intakes on the rear fenders, i.e. actual TT fenders, because it was more cost effective to just pull some fenders off the shelve instead of designing all new rear fenders without the intake holes just for a limited run of RS's.

Man!!! I thought it was all gimmicky to put a manual transmission in a platform that wasn't designed for one and in an era that has firmly left manual transmissions behind (the reason I got a 997 gt3 rs) but now that I've seen the video I really want this car!

So what are the chances that Porsche will end up putting the 6 speed manual in the GT3 (RS) as an option?

    GT4 > huge success
911R > many are after it, also wealthy owners who HOPE (!!) to get one, even read a 918 owner is not 100% confirmed on the list yet...

Having gone quite ''old school'' with the 911R, i.e. it's not a GT3 with a manual and wing delete (it's got a bit softer interior, with retro styling), the door is open a little bit.

That said...damn this car is absolutely awesome. I love how it looks, without the wing it's so sleek. Porsche is on a roll.

I read so much about the car in recent days, I can't for the life of me remember which owner and where said he wasn't confirmed yet .

Excellent that he sees a possibility on the GT3. :)
