Will you please stop this! It's really taking its toll on me. I'm working on this right now. If it woks out, I'm sure I'll be hooked! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've seen that car in person. It's a nice one. Are you in Tampa? PM me and we can compare notes on Dimmitt and you can check out my 720 if you'd like.
ANYONE want to stop by and go over mine,,,,your more than welcome as well! Ive sold three for my dealer, guys that NEVER owned or drove a McLaren and are hooked. I just drove my 2006 FORD GT 200 miles today with an airbag recall and inspection. I love it and its my gig with GTJOEY and all that. I will be buried in one of my GT'S ....But , if you want technology and the future? Touch the paddle from 2 to 3 to 4, your face gets pulled back and then hit the brake your heart comes out of your chest. That's with A/C on and sirrius radio! Its not saying any other car is bad or less worthy, its like the day the ETYPE was unveiled, The Ferrari gto. Cars like that... Its over the top, find me on the road NEW YORK TO INDY IN TWO WEEKS, 1,500 MILES IN 48 HOURS! GTJOEY1314
Thank you, but I am in AZ. I would love to see your car, but.... So far Dimmitt has been good..... but they are trying to pry $300K out of me! I'm not a fan of those wheels, but that is an easy fix.
I'm in Scottsdale if you ever want to check out my 720S let me know. Or you can usually find me at Cars & Coffee. My expectations for this car were very high and it has exceeded them. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Have bought from Dimmit in the past and would buy from again since they tend to have good pricing. They were nice enough to interact with, but I did feel like they left out a few details that they shouldn't have missed when I asked about the condition being that I was buying without going to actually look at it personally. If you're buying used, go over it very closely for any imperfections. Not saying they're shady or anything, but they might just not pay as close attention as you would.
If you are talking about the Motorsports Gathering on the 1st Saturday of the month (101/Mayo), I was one of the guys that started it. It's way out of control for me now. I get together most Saturdays with a few guys at Goldman's Deli (Hayden/Indian Bend) at ~8:30am. You are welcome to join us anytime (with or without the 720), but I would love to see it. The 720 is the first car that has gotten me excited in a long time!
Yes the 101/Mayo event has gotten huge... very cool that you were among those who started it. I will definitely take the offer to meet at Goldman's sometime, I don't live too far from there. If you remember, give me a heads up before the next one and I'll bring the 720. I felt the same about the 720, also the Ford GT but knew I wouldn't be in the running for one.
Here's a little history of the Gathering. Once upon a time.... The Mayo event started at least 18 years ago. There were about 6 of us that were so tired of the pretentiousness that the Ferrari Club had become (btw....same crew started and built that), that we bailed and just would get together for coffee every week and a drive from time to time. Then one day we came up with an idea to invite a few of our car friends once a month. That was at the Shops at Gainey. We even made up a make believe car club (Scuderia SW), that had no meetings, officers, dues, rules or drama. After a couple of years, word spread that a low key, low stress, no drama and most of all fun event that attracted everything from worker bee Alfas to Pebble Beach winners and more exotics than you can shake a stick at, was the place to be on the 1st Saturday of the month. What started with 6 enthusiasts, blossomed to 400-600 cars. Then (as has happened with every car club/event that I have grown), a certain group of people come along and think it (and they), are extremely important. They cozy up to the inner circle (who have careers, businesses, families and lives) and manage to take over, have meetings, create rules and make drama. Hence the move to that big, empty, characterless parking lot that it currently resides. Now a few car guys that just like to enjoy cars, with no meetings, dues, rules or drama, get together at Goldman's Deli for some low key, jaw exercise! Here's a shot from the early days...
