Id like to report Bourdaise has just completed a full lap, although only in practice, the lap was complete without incident and STR sponsors are extremely proud of 1:33 of tv exposure provided by Sebastian.

Im waiting to see if Vettel can provide such a feat. :)

15 minutes left and Kimi still has the fastest lap that he completed near the beginning of practice.

I couldnt resist the STR stuff. They have been so bad in races lately. It was refreshing to see a clean lap.
Nice to see Kimi recover so well.
Heiki looked alot smoother than LH overall. LH picked up the pace late thats for sure.
Mclarens looked better vs BMW today as well. I know its just practice though.

Overall practice showed what most already know. Ferrari, Mclaren and BMW, Renault not quite there but it was just practice today. Spain appears to be less of a step forward, and more of a show for the home crowd for Renault on behalf of FA.

LOL! In honor of the occasion, Hot Wheels will be issuing a limited edition 1:33 scale model of Bourdais' car, appropriately called "SeaBass". Stay tuned in the "Collectibles" section to watch the mania unfold!

I kind of wonder if Scott and Tony watch this season with some degree of amusement or justification.

just practice but ferrari is looking good. should be a great race i wonder if mclaren will fuel LH a tad light just to try and get him pole position. I honestly can't think of a better way to off-set the trouble they've had the past few races. LH has started to remind me of Massa a bit making mistakes when he's not leading the race.

lewis is at his best when he has no one in front of him, Once he gets in the middle of the pack and has to fight for a position he has real issues. Put Lewis behind Mark Webber and he will end the race behind Webber.

Not entirely, Lewis has yet to win a race from anything other than pole. He was pretty mediocre in Malaysia this year when he started midpack and struggled to pass several drivers and in the end couldn't get passed Trulli. Great driver, just needs some work on overtaking.

I guess you missed all of last season then? Ask Massa what he thinks of Hamilton's overtaking abilities.

In Malaysia, Hamilton's bungled pitstop left him in 11th place. Within 4 laps he was up to 7th. He finished the race in 4th. I guess he must have made a couple of passes in there at some point, eh?

Last season all but two GPs were won from the front row and one of those two, Kimi in Brazil, was gifted to him by his teammate. The sole remaining race where the winner did not start on the front row was France, where Kimi started 3rd.

The fact is that it is extremely difficult for anyone in F1 to win from anywhere but the first two starting positions. I hardly consider the fact that Hamilton has won from the pole to be indicative of anything other than his ability to put the car on pole.

It could just be that we never see any of these top drivers in the back and never see them have a chance to overtake.

Michael Schumacher would have been a great driver if he had won more back to back championships. Great driver though.

And yes, that is sarcasm that you detect, Molly.

Hamilton's car is no where near as powerful as it was last year. That's a fact. Blame it on Alonso's set up, or what have you, it just is not as good of a car, well compared to the Ferrari. Nowadays I think the car matters MUCH more than the driver does. It is virtually impossible for Alonso to get on a podium/win no matter how good he drives (as long as the other cars crash out)... but back when Schumacher was driving it was a possibility. The only way a lesser car can qualify decently is if they do a low fuel run. If they do that, their chances at a decent position in the race are again... not possible.

even Rubens was quoted sayin that it's so difficult to overtake in F1 these days. however, it still remains a fact that all of Lewis's win came from pole.
