Hello guys, I had bought my Brembo Gt 15" kit (front and Back) with custom Ferrari lettering a few months back for my F430 I have about 800 mils (no track) on them. The brakes are immaculate. I bought the kit because I felt the F430 standard brakes were way too small for the 19" wheels. The Brembo's do amazing job of filling up the wheels as well as providing amazing stopping power. Jason at Exotica Motorsports did an amazing job of matching the color of the brakes and the lettering on the brakes. I just came across a sweet deal on ceramic brakes and I will be upgrading my brakes again. I wanted to offer these to any fellow FChat member at a reasonable cost. Here is the link to the Ferrarichat Ads that I posted: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/vbclassified.php?do=ad&id=648 Here are the Brembo Specs: F430 Front Brakes - 380X32MM Discs, 6 Piston calipers and all mounting hardware. Brembo part #1M1.9008A F430 Rear Brakes - 380X32MM Discs, 6 Piston calipers and all mounting hardware. Brembo part #1M1.9002A I paid $10,145 for the entire kit, which include the custom painting and the lettering. I'm willing to entertain any reasonable offers. Please PM me or call me on my number. Well done - absolutely right to do it as well. I wish I had. The stock steel brakes on my Spider RUINED the whole experience for me. Hopeless brakes. Those Brembo GT's look awesome too.
I have these on my F430, and the stopping power on the track is simply superb. I do think that a balancing valve would help as the balance is a bit too much towards the rear, but it is very manageable. Going with racing pads in the front and semi-race pads in the rear would balance it out completely. I'm just waiting for the pads I like to become available for this kit. They are so much better than stock...you will simply not believe the difference.
I have the same brakes for sale in the parts section if anyone is interested. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/vbclassified.php?do=ad&id=4395 Tremendous improvement in stopping power and just look how they properly fill up a 19" wheel. Available because I removed the brakes before trading my F430.
Great looking brakes, both of you. Depends on whether you like red or yellow calipers better. Shashi- Whose ceramic brakes are you getting? My 575M is being fitted with MovIt ceramics. movit.com Taz Terry Phillips
Love the brembo's great upgrade. We just did a brembo kit in the same red/black ferrari logo for a customers 575 super america. Good luck with the sale. Rob
It was the best money I ever spent on an aftermarket upgrade. So much more confidence in the cars stopping capability. Once you experience it, you will never be able to go back to the standard F430 brakes.
I have this upgrade on my F430 and the stopping power is so much better than stock it is simply amazing. There are a few things to consider though if you track your car. First, note that the calipers have a big "high hat" that crosses over in the middle of the calipers...that means the only way to change pads is to REMOVE THE CALIPERS vs the usual Brembo setup where you pop out a couple of pins or a spring and pull the pads. This means at the track it will take you a long time to change pads vs the 5 minutes per wheel with the standard setup. If you also instruct at the track, odds are you won't have time to switch a set of front pads between two of your run sessions, so plan on losing some track time with this set up if you have to change pads int he middle of the day. Second, the rear calipers/pads are simply too big for the rear of the car....so you get some squirming from the rear end under threshold breaking on the track. Not a problem on the street, but at the end of a long straight going from 160mph down to 40mph to make a hairpin turn, plan on having your rear end feel like it's trying to come around on you....it won't but it sure isn't a nice feeling. Two choices....either install a brake bias adjuster of some sort (OK for a pure track car, but silly for a street/track car) or go with different friction pads front and rear. I run Ferodo DS3000 (full race pads) in the front and Ferodo DS2500 (street/race pads) in the rear. I get a much better balance in terms of brake bias and the car feels very steady under severe braking. And the Ferodo's don't squeal or squeak on the street and with so much pad material you really don't have to worry about warming them up prior to being able to use them on the street. So I put the pads in prior to a track event when I have plenty of time to pull all four calipers, and then just leave them in place for street use....no problems at all. I have used them in cool weather on the street and in the wet on the street without warming them up and they are fine. That being said, I wouldn't want to go out and run it at 100mph and then hit the brakes when they are stone cold.....but who would ever do that on the street anyway, right? RIGHT? Anyway, if you are just going to use this setup on the street, don't even think twice...do it! And if you are going to track the car, just be aware of the things I mention above. And they do look so much better than the stock steel brakes....it's a huge difference.
