I've been considering an upgrade for my 348 brakes. Is anyobne familiar with these?

What I'd really like to do is to get rid of a bunch of stuff in my attic, and use the $$ to buy into the brembo kit.
SO, does anyone need any of this stuff, before I dump it on eBay?
    I have:
A complete factory cover kit for the 348 in the red satin. It includes two seat covers, (great condition, actully currently on my seats!), a tailored car cover, (perfect), and a steering wheel cover, (as new also).
I also stumbled accross a brake booster for the 308 QV, I never used, it is new.
I've also got the original interior pieces from my 348 that I replaced with carbon fiber, door panels, glove box cover, center facia, environmental control panel, ash tray, shifter surround panel, I've also got an extra "prototype" carbon fiber center gauge surround at my house, I never returned to Andre. It fits nicely. I'll have to check with Andre first before parting with this.
SO, does anyone want to contribute to the effort for the Brembo kit?
    Thanks.

That's a good price on the Brembo kit!

Jeff, I can probably use that 308QV Brake Booster -- I changed the MC last year, but kept the original booster. I don't really need it, but if you're willing to give an exception price, I'll be glad to help you clear that out of your attic... PM me! Of course, I'm not sure if the EURO booster is the same as the USA model... do you know?

That gt kit is not the one you wany. There was a real challenge kit and that was a differnt hat and caliper. The gt kit fits with the standard wheels and the real challenge kit only fits with the bigger 18" challenge wheels. Brombos for the challenge cars were different from brembos for the street cars.

I have a similar set up on my 348. Mine has F40LM Spec Brembos up front and F50 rears. A HUGE improvement over stock. You will need 18" wheels however, as those calipers and rotors won't work with the stock wheels. Next you need to find a set of factory Challenge wheels...the decreased unsprung weight between the Challenge and stock wheels are tremendous....It makes a great improvement in the handling department.

That is a great price on the set as well.

That ad says the rotors are 14" which would be 355mm - I can't believe those would fit with calipers in 17" wheels...the GT kits I looked up say something like 332mm (13.1" or so) so is this a GT kit with extra big rotors?

I looked up some pricing for the Challenge kits v. the gt kit and see prices around say $3,500 per axle for the GT kit and like $7,500 for the Challenge kit. I have been thinking I want bigger brakes for my 348 spider (wife has nicer brakes on her bloody Boxster S, FCS) and have been trying to get my head around $7K to do the job, but $15K seems nuts for everybody except the hardcore racers.

Does this make sense or am I mixing up different kits, etc.

    Cheers
    Kevin

That sounds like a great setup. I use 18" Ferrari 355 wheels on my 348tt.

    Hi,
I have a Brembo front kit and a Brembo rear kit brand new still in the box for the 348.
Front and rear kit have a 332mm 2 piece race rotor (this is a real floating rotor, drilled with a lightweight aluminum hat).
the calipers are the Brembo 4 piston used on the F40/F50.
The Challenge kit is not recommended for street use, this set up is far better as far as components and is really street friendly.
Also this this kit drops 6 to 8 pounds per corner.
    I will take offers

    Thanks
    Victor B.

Yes the 348 Brembo rear kit, has a functional parking brake.
Also these kits are designed to work with the stock master cylinder, and think about this, SAME BRAKE CALIPERS AS THE F40/F50, a must for cars with bigger wheels

you can save some money by using Stillen Sport Rotors and Metal Matrix pads from Stillen,Costa Mesa,Ca(www.stillen.com).The whole set (4) costs about 1300.00 incl. shipping.Rotors are drilled and made by Brembo, exact fix as OEM and works with factory ABS and stock calipers.Stops alotbetter than stock, but not quite a good as a full Brembo setup.

Thanks for the tip, Cal! I'll keep it in mind. Actually, I would like to increase the size of my rotors and calipers. Does stillen have such a kit?

My Brmbo Challenge set up does not have a parking brake, but no matter. I use a rubber stop and leave in gear.

Very quick stopping power, but noisy, just like a track car for the street should be.
