    Hi all,

I bought a few years ago the model from David Piper. This model has a bump in the roof. The model is original British Racing Green, and was made by Azur Models about mid '70's. Can someone please tell me a little bit more about this model?!?!

    Thanks very much!!

I have no digital of my collection..I need to scan!

The 412P was the customer version of the 1967 330P race car at LeMans.....

This sounds like an interesting find you have!

Without a photo it's hard to be definite, but IIRC the only 250GTO in green and with a bump in the roof was 4491GT. It was built by David Piper with a chop-top roofline. When Peter Sutcliffe raced the car in 1965 (shown here at Spa) he had to put the bump in the roof as he was taller than Piper.

    Is that the car?

Very unusual though not unheard of...Dan Gurney also required a bubble in some cars...

I once owned this 1/18 scale modified bburago modell.

This company (azur)was based in the south of france and used to modifie bburago modells which are not rare at all.

They also made the blue with yellow stripe norinder gto, an agnelli testarossa spider in silver and the imsa F40 LM in (0123 version).
The modells were screwed to a wooden baseplate and sold in a wooden winecase.
I recall having seen a bugatti and for as far as i know, the production stopped after 1 or 2 years. (around 1990)

    shopprices were around $150.

Azur models are very rare, During the last 10 years I only saw 1 or 2 in europe

    All,

Thank you very much for all the information you all gave me!! It's true, I have the original "Winecase" still with the car. My shopmanager said, that this was a very good buy for a modelcar. He also said, that this particular type of modelcar is very rare. I never heard/saw someone who had the same model as I have. The cars from Azur Models are also numbered. My car is number 89/100. Is there anyone who has the same model?? And does anyone know what the current value of this modelcar is?? But thank you very much for all this information!!

I noticed that you are dutch too.
I bought my modell at automobilia in haarlem (Holland) and resold it for about $200, 2 years later to the same shop (it was sold witin a month I brought it there).
I never saw the same model again.
I don't know where you bought your gto, but it is possible that you bought the modell i resold in the early nineties.

It's the only azur piper GTO i ever saw, (dus dat zou erg toevallig zijn).

he main reason for me selling it, was that i specialised in BBR and Brianza back then.

The current value is depending on rarity and the luck of finding someone who really likes it, for bburago collectors it is a real gem. value could be from $200 to ????????
