OK, he says 3pm would be better. Bring on the noise!!
So meet at Home Depot at 3PM !!!!!!! I will send out an email. Others, please, Feel free to do the same !!
I may be able to make that. I'm going to Six Flags in the morning (for free! aside from parking) but I should be home by 2. I can switch cars and drive out to Suwannee. No guarantees, but I'll try to make it.
We met up at the Home Depot at 3; Leigh and Brian were waiting in the Testarossa. After chatting for awhile there, we went to the house and chatted some more for about 45 minutes or so. I thank them for their hospitality. I had not been there since a Christmas party we had had there some years ago. Brian is looking (and feeling) much better than when I saw him in the hospital a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully that will continue and this will soon all be in the past. Just one photo this time! Thank you, Jim & Jeff, for coming out yesterday. It was great to see you & I know Brian enjoyed the visit.
Very Sorry that I couldn't make it ! Something came up , late Sat. that prevented me from coming !! I am glad to hear of Brian's progress !! Look forward to seeing him out and at some car events soon ! Maybe ICA !!!!
Brian, I had company over the weekend so I couldn't come. However, I did honk my horn and rev up the 456 at 2:30 in my driveway! Hope to see you out soon. Rick . . . .
Brian is rapidly getting back to normal. He's talking about redesigning the Norma and getting back on the track, so you know it's just a matter of time (not much of it!) before he's back to his old self. I'll try to get him to post an update to let everyone know how he's doing.
I owe so many people so many thanks that sometimes I forget who I have chatted with. So sorry for this delay. As most of you know-I had a "small fender-bender" in my race car about two months ago. There was a certain amount of personal injury (who knew hang-nails required 2 weeks in the hospital??) of which I am, thankfully, recovering from. Progress is slow but good. My doctors all agree that I will get back to my original, annoying self in time. I have the helmet (in it's full glory) in my office-in case anyone wants to see. I also have pictures of the car, which are on my laptop, but I can send copies to anyone interested. I have yet to fully absorb the consequences and lessons from this event but I have learned some things-which I shall, hopefully, never unlearn. First and foremost is that the words of John Donne- "No man is an island entire of itself " holds more truth than we know. The outpouring of concern and interest in my condition and welfare has perhaps been the only good thing to have come from this experience. One has thier family and friends of course, but one never really understands or appreciates the depth of love and concern until one goes thru such an experience as I have. I wish I could find some better way or words to express my gratitude and thanks to all of you. But I am no John Donne. If I can offer any more words it would be this: Do not take for granted those around you-whether they are family or friends. Spend a moment and realize how special they all are to you, and how special you are to them. Thank you all for your concern, interest and love. I have been deeply touched and changed (for the better) by it all. Brian Willis
Welcome back Brian! Glad you are back on track to being back to your old self. Would like to see that helmet of yours and other pics if you don't mind. You could always post pics in the subscribed section if you don't want them out in public eye.
Here they are. None are NSFW. None are gory, none are unacceptable for public consumption. Here is helmet. The metal bit is my cars rear view mirror stalk. Went through helmet-into jaw and face and broke a bunch of bones around left eye. Hence the Titanium patches.
