i had a little time on my hands this evening, so i thought i would post something we haven't talked that much about in the past. carlos brianza is an incredible model maker and since he passed away, his children have continued the legacy.

i took a couple of photo's of my 246 gts model that was done by carlo, before his passing. sadly, i damaged my model after taking photo's tonight by chipping the paint ever so slightly when putting the cover back on (i deserve the "not paying attention" award of the year).

regardless, these models are amazing. sure there are details that aren't 100% correct (anyone with a gts knows there aren't sun shades that flip up like on a regulare car - instead, they are retractable and held by a suction cup). but still, they are pretty damn cool.

    Nice details!
This rivals the craftsmanship of a Swiss watchmaker.

    Great cars in 1/14 scale.
I tried to upload pictures of my GT version but it failed, and i'll look in to it later.
Even rarer are the HE14 by Enrica ferraris in 1/14 scale.
I have the 250LM and a 275 Nartspyder. I just missed out on a 250 gt spider on ebay (d.......!) last week ( if the buyer is a Fchatter., congratioulations).
They are made by the Brianza manufacturer called BNT in Tradate. They built these models between 1987 and 1994. Enrica models were commisioned by Milano43 a shop in Milano, Italy by mr. Paolo Tron and his wife Enrica. These people were Pioneers of their time, creating a mailorder catalog called TSSK. In the late eighties They were the experts, before the BBR, MR time.

The Brianza models are still available, but are now built by MG modelplus fom Italy. In the late 1980's these models were the best quality available.
Computers and productionmethods were not as sophistaced as nowadays, which is visible in the product. The Kyosho's, Tamiya's and other ferraris that are made in great numbers cannot match the craftmanship of mr. Brianza and other builders of the pre computer-era.
If I read the discussions about the 1/12 kyosho's and Tamiya Enzo in the modelsection of F chat. I can understand what they are talking about.
I also like these models very much
    BUT;
To me, a brianza is a piece of authentic craftmanship, if you consider that it's made manually and without computers, they are among the best ferrarimodels ever made. and a priced posession.

Sometimes one turnes up on ebay and prices vary between 500 and 2000 dollars depending on the model

Great to see them on F chat, for a long time collector of scalemodels, these are the posts that make it happen for me, kyoshos's, UT, BBurago and other multi producing factories are widely available. For me, collecting is about obtaining something special, not to have 150 diecasts on a wall.

i'll try to post some pictures later.

interesting question, i will have to check. i know there is one on the drivers side as seen in the photo. like i said, the model isn't 100% accurate. if you look closly, you'll also notice the front fenders don't have the right curvature, they almost seem a little flatter than a real car does.

A friend had one of the Enrica 250 California spiders about 15 years ago, and I don't think it was very good at all. The Brianza 1/14th models are good for something that was done almost 20 years ago, but certainly wouldn't stand up to some of the things being done today, especially relative to price. If I rember correctly, the retail price was around $800 back then. I was never all that impressed with the Conti's either. The best by far, IMO, were the ones done by Olive-Sans. In the US, Jim Waters, a Southern Californian did some very nice scratch builts in larger scales, but they were all "one-offs".
