This should prove to be interesting . . . . and so much for the remark made by Speed on Fisi being the lead Renault driver next year . . . . Flavio Briatore will announce his future plans by the German Grand Prix later this month, even though he still does not know who the team's lead driver will be next season. The flamboyant Italian's contract with the French car manufacturer runs out at the end of the year and he has been pushed by the company's chiefs to re-commit to them - especially after the manner in which he has helped make them world champions. "I'll say something in Hockenheim," said Briatore, who made it clear that it was still not definite that he will be staying on despite Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn recently visiting the team's Enstone factory to talk to him. "I've not decided yet. We are still talking about it, and I want this week to think about it." Carol Still can't help but wonder why Willie Weber and Flavio were so chummy in the couple times they were shown on the pre-race last Sunday.
Flavio would be an idiiot not to renew his contract, and Flaio's not an idiot. An @$$hole maybe, but not an idiot. He's jockeying for more money. I'm no fan of Flavio, but good for him.
Why would you even worry about that? AFAIK Willie now has only MS under contract and MS will only retire with Ferrari. And I don't think Willi has the power to negotiate a role for Flavio with the Scuderia. So either way I only see a dead end. Whatever it was they discussed, I don't see any connection in regards to transfers.
Maybe it's the other way around. Good old Flav is maybe asking Willie Webber to take over the management of Mark Webber and Alonso in exchange for some pit babes
On track rivalry dosnt really extend to off track relationships in F1, wether it be team owners, managers or drivers. Remember those Eddie Jordan days with him in the band?
