We should talk about that here.

How much would you guys pay for a BMC in Manhattan with the same service? No one would move your car except you just like at the original BMC.
It would likely be in the west 30's or lower east side.

    Thoughts.

assuming the same setup as the one in Bridgehampton, vast space.....temperature controlled....security cameras (also accessible on internet) -- for a monthly enclosed garage in NYC in the west 30s or lower east side - $500 a month

I think he has about 70...

In order for us to do a BMC in manhattan it would probably run about $750 a month. Maybe even $1,000 if we were to keep the whole museum style feel.

Would we have 10 takers here? I would limit it to 20-30 cars.

i would never pay $1000 to store my 360 in NYC.
unless i had an enzo or some car of that magnitude, then i would.

if u ever come up with a less expensive garage in NYC, let me know

I already pay nearly $500/mo to garage my 550 in NYC. They take good care of my car and it's right downstairs from me.
I used to pay $350/mo, but it was 15 blocks away, they started dinging my car, and I became generally displeased with them.

I'd probably pay a bit more for a place that I knew would take really good care of my car, perhaps even if it were not as convenient as being right downstairs from me. But doubling to $1000/mo is really not likely to happen for me.

We could probably keep it to $500 if the cars are moved around and we lose the 24 hour access. But at that point it just becomes a garage. 24 hour access and having unfettered access is huge "space eater".

At BMC one car takes up the space three would in a New York City Garage.

In my current garage my car doesn't move except when I move it, and there's someone there 24 hours/day, so I can take her out whenever I want.

I consider myself a little lucky on the first count (it's a small little place ;) ), but on the second count my expectation really is for 24 hour access. On the other hand, I don't take up a lot of space now (certainly not three cars worth) but I am in a space that they keep for me because it doesn't have anything else right next to it. I could be a tough sell right now for anything more than I'm currently paying, but a year ago I might have jumped on almost anything that assured me a better service level than I was getting!

its not really for u EC playaz. u drive ur car, almost daily sometimes. u really want to cab 30 blocks to pick up/drop off ur whip?
that solution is for ppl who dont drive, then its great cuz u pay a bit more than nyc parking garage but u get much better service.

I used to walk 20 blocks (yes, walk! okay, sometimes subway, since it was very direct) to get to my car from SoHo. Garages there were crazy crazy and at the time I was getting great attention from the other place a friend of mine referred me to. And I still put all those miles on her, but usually more with work or pleasure trips every week as opposed to routine daily use. And now that I'm doing less of that I'm certainly happier to have my car right downstairs for me to fulfill spontaneous desires... :)

But in a roundabout way I don't see being a little out of the way as a killer for something like this. Then again, I like a good walk more than most!

fwerfff.....if u dont allow 24 hour access, then to me the garage aint worth it because i take my car out daily at odd hours of the day. and i agree with jeff, if u garage queen ur car, then the BMC rates and service would be ideal.

I pay $600 now. $750 for BMC in NYC would be sweet.

    Rob -

I hear ya on the issues, but $500 is probably my threshold, since that's what I'm paying right now for a dedicated parking spot with 24-hour, take-your-key-with-you access.

That being said, I am sure that if diligence was done, it would turn out that there are a substantial number of wealthy New Yorker's who would be delighted to pay $750 - $1,000 for the privilege (and bragging rights) of having their cars in the city.

EDIT: BTW, congratulations on being mentioned in New York Magazine. Hot stuff indeed.
