I bought Bridgestone RE-11 tires (front 235/35/R19 and rear 285/35R19). It looks like neither my dealer nor the local tire shop is not able to put the front tires onto the standard F430 19" rims. They say the sidewals are extremely stiff.

How did everyone else seem to get this done?

    Appreciate your help

    Wow.

I have never had a problem. But I am using a state of the art center post Hunter tire machine that eats stuff like this for breakfast.

You may just need to go to the tirerack.com web site & look up your local "installers." Then search each local installer for the latest equipment (each installer listed should show what machine they have). Look for a nice late model Hunter or other top line machine and take your business to them.

    Easy as Sunday morning.

Sounds like you may live in a small town like me. My shop had difficulty when I went to 18" rims and 30 profile tires way back with my FD RX-7. I did finally get them on, but I would be careful, if a shop does not have a tire mount machine that never physically touches your wheels, then find another shop. Do not risk damage to your wheels.

Do you have a Discount Tire local to you? They have the latest Hunter Machines that'll handle them just fine.

any local quality full service racing shop would do. They usually have the best equipments and actually care about mounting tires properly esp for track use. It helps if it's a shop familiar with premium cars/wheels/tires.

Any race shop will do it, I find local shops with a good Hunter machine that do it all the time.

    For instance, I mount a 285 wide tire on a 18x8 wheel, a 265 wide on a 18x7.5.

Find a capable shop, not being able to mount RE11 235/35R19 on a 19x7.5 wheel is just total laziness and lack of skills.

My dealer installed mine without a problem so I am a bit puzzled here. I figured they would give me grief bc the fronts aren't the factory size but no!!!!

I found that understeer was reduced very noticeably when I went to 235s in the front but left the 285s in the rear on my stock 430. I'm a natural skeptic and I didn't expect much change. It is especially noticeable on tracks of course but even in street use, turn in is more responsive. 225s are pretty skinny IMO. My Cayman S has 235s and 265s.

I'm curious about this. Three shops have just tried to install an RE11 235/35R19 on a 19x7.5 wheel for me, and all three shops have failed!!

I double-checked the specs and Bridgestone say this tire is designed for an 8" to 9.5" rim.

Are we sure that a good shop should be able to mount an RE11 235/35R19 on a 19x7.5 rim with relative ease?

I don't understand their problem. It's only one size up. I went up a size on my Porsche front and rear without a problem. I have 235 RE-11s on mine now.

+1. I noticed a huge reduction in understeer when going from the front stock 225's to 245's on my 993TT, especially at the track. I suspect that the front tires come undersized from the factories to make it harder to throttle-lift oversteer these mid- and rear-engined sports cars.

I plan to upgrade to front 235's on the F430.

I rang around, found myself a shop with the most state-of-the-art equipment (a Corghi machine, not a Hunter) and they popped the tires on with relative ease.

I can therefore chime in and say that a 235/35/19 tire can definitely be mounted on a 19 x 7.5 rim.

Discount tire mounted mine. They said it was difficult and they had to get them warm, but they got it done.
