Swiss Newspaper Blick (they are a good source for F1 news) reports, that there is a good chance next year a LOT of teams will be driving on Bridgestones, including Mc Laren, BAR and Toyota (apart from the already known Ferrari, Red Bull and Williams). Only a few might remain on Michelin: Renault and Sauber as they have solid contracts.

Michelin are actually considering withdrawing from F1 for the 2007 season when there will be a tire monopoly again and that's why more teams now prefer to jump shift.

So in all likelihood Ferrari will not suffer from lack of tire test data for next season and Renault is rolling the dice whether they have super tire for next year or a total flop. Should be interesting.

I truly hope this one tire rule doesn't go into effect. To me, one of the great aspects of F1 is the tire war. I love the engineering that goes on throughout the year to create a better tire for the next weekend. Any rule which restricts the evolution of technology in F1 hurts the sport in my eyes. F1 won't be as exciting to me without at least 2 tire manufacturers competing against each other every weekend. While I know they are trying to save money and create a better show, the show will be hurt without at least 2 tire manufacturers competing as well. While on the subject, the current tire rules I feel are also hurting the sport. Not changing tires in a race also hurts the show as teams have to look after them like this was an endurance race. I for one don't want to see teams having to slow their pace to just finish the race because their tires are wearing faster than they planned. The spirit of F1 is not followed by the current tire situation and will further be hurt if a control tire is introduced.

    My 2 cents
