Just opening the thread for you guys.

Us Americans won't have the priviledge of watching the race live, so the FChatters from the rest of the world can have fun with this thread.

Thanks to mind numbing Fox TV for us the race will be 4 hours delayed, which means for me no Internet/FChat for pretty much all of Sunday: Right after the GP the World Cup Final starts.

Us poor yank viewers will need to keep a really low profile for a while...... *Please* engage brain before posting spoilers (particularly in seemingly unrelated threads....) - Thanks!

    Cheers,

And since it airs on the local Fox affiliate there is always the threat that a local news story gets priority and some random car shooting kicks the F1 GP off the screen.

Indeed. We'll also fail to see the post race interviews until Speed re-airs it. :(

Somewhat related, they always say "subject to blackout" - Anyone ever experienced that?

    Cheers,
    Ian

I don't think it ever happened so far with a F1 race (not counting Speed delaying F1 qualifying for a NASCAR truck race), but it has happened with other sports and shows.

All we need is some dumbass shootout and your regular program gets kicked off to the side.

In fairness, he did go on to correct that.

    He's still a numbskull though ;)

I actually kinda liked the (Aussie?) fill in guy - Whit someone?

And Buxton is about 100x better than Pee Wee IMO.

So that's something! IIRC, this is also the last race on Fox (?)

    Cheers,
    Ian

There are a number of sites that stream the race live; sadly they all crapped out at one point or another during qually. Anyone have a reliable source?

Good morning from a hot, humid south Germany. Im here waiting for the race and my friends are at Lake Konstanz enjoying a bit of sailing. They know not to invite me if the race weekend is around. Today Im wishing I was there sailing :)

Red Bull and its problems will probably win this no question. Hopefully it will be a bit more exciting than my prediction. I wish all of you a good Sunday and happy viewing not matter the time it shows!

Good morning guys - I will catch what I caN when I get into Detroit about 6:30 am, have a not terribly long layover there but hopefully the time will be condusive to watching commentary from iPhone. DTW does not have free wi-fi, Erie does! Has all the makings of another RB win.

    Catch u later

The best part about FOX broadcasting the race is that we (US viewers) will get even MORE commercials than if SPEED was covering the race, if that were possible. Perhaps they will show 7,000 Viagra commercials followed by 250 "As seen on TV" ads. Hopefully the race will only briefly interrupt the commercial flow. I just can't get enough of the terrible CGI used in the Acura ads.

Red Bull have denied they favour Sebastian Vettel over team-mate Mark Webber after fresh controversy broke out at the British Grand Prix.

Clarke and Dawe have got to do a F1 front fell off version.

It surprises me that some american company hasn't bought the BBC program yet. BBC sells their live program all over the world, even here in africa! The south african presenters do their own (ill informed a lot of the time) pre and after show, and inbetween qualifying session they give their own review of it, but for the rest we get all the practice sessions, qualifying and race with the BBC commentators. A real shame we don't get the whole show including the pre-race thing because BBC really is second to none at that.

It can't be that expensive can it? There aren't many africans who actually like F1 to begin with, it's all about football and the occasional rugby/cricket over here, yet a relatively small company shows it all over africa.
