I've almost given up on Top Gear. But tonight's episode they are in British Columbia. It was a nice surprise. Some of the highway scenes, near my house. They even stopped at a restaurant I've been to. About 30 minutes east of me. Neat seeing familiar scenery on Top Gear.

I've seen other messageboards get split reviews and love/hate not only this episode, but this season in general. I personally liked it as I'm not a fan of their reviews or challenges with European econoboxes. They finally did something new and drove gigantic pickups and made it look fun. Plus, Gillian Anderson still looks good. :)

This is the best season of TG in many many seasons.

I'm split. I want to see more car reviews and less trips. But seeing my area on Top Gear was pretty cool. Maybe more trips with reviews and the show would be better.

    Quite like this season.

This was my favourite episode for a long time though. I already loved the Raptor but it's just getting better and better. It looks ****ing epic in yellow too.

Gillian Anderson was fantastic. Great woman.

Disappointed wish we saw more. Vancouver and that area has breath taking scenery and they confined it to what appears to be a single snow filled mountain.

I think this was the best episode so far this season. The previous episode of driving the Peugeots off the roads was really stupid, IMO.

True they should have showed more scenery. Even near Vancouver the scenery is pretty nice. One thing I was surprised was when they first showed their location on the map, it was actually the location.

But I discovered Clarkson, May and Hammond, well they got stuck in Trail, BC due to weather. Trail is a few hours away from the Rocky Mountains. My theory is they showed Hammond being dropped off in a mountain range. But when they filmed the rescue it was in trail and not the original drop off point. No big mountain range near Trail, its almost desert like there in the summer.

Unless they get Harris or Metcalfe in there, Top Gear is done. Sacking Clarkson is equivalent to suicide of the show, and for the BBC to hack their left arm and leg off.

The funny part is...Clarkson could easily do his own webseries hosted on perhaps youtube/netflix (presumably where they would pay out of pocket to pay him). An interesting prospect for Clarkson as he can completely speak his own mind without being silenced by the communists at the BBC.

Clarkson could pull off his own webisode. He should go the same route as Glenn Beck did with his political opinion show, start a station online. Clarkson did well with his one off series on DVD, the jump to webisodes would be easy. Probably make more money then he does off Top Gear.

More so best solution is to have HBO buy the rights to the show and most of the problems are solved

Turns out there's a bit more to this story than first assumed (negative for the presenters). BBC is in a tough position to say the least.

BBC is saying he got into a fracas with a producer. Rumored a punch by Clarkson was thrown. Also rumored it was over catering on a shoot. Makes Clarkson sound like a diva.

A petition to reinstate Clarkson has reached 400k signatures. Clarkson's, Mays and Hammonds contracts are up at the end of the month. Good opportunity for them to create a new show on another network for big dollars. Bet Clarkson is glad he sold his shares in the Top Gear rights.

If Netflix can afford to pay Kevin Spacey for House of Cards, I assume they could pay the trio to do a streaming version of Top Gear and have a decent budget for the show.

I think there's a whole lot more to the story than the media is letting spill. I can't imagine Clarkson going back to the BBC now. I can't imagine another Top Gear episode airing, honestly. Maybe they agree to do one last finale?

But I don't think this was an accident. The timing is quite interesting...

If they actually leave and start another Top Gear outside BBC, i bet everyone will still follow them. Just watched last night's episode. Very interesting. Loved the Jag section. And May's 'ow ow ow ow ow'..

From what I know what has happened unfortunately Clarkson and the Co presenters where definitely in the wrong.

    They will survive though...

I feel like Clarkson doesn't care about it much anymore and has way more money than he'd ever need. I doubt he would continue working this much and would rather retire. I bet the BBC was convincing him to do more seasons given the money they make from it rather than him pushing for more...

I agree they all seem pretty bored with it. Clarkson lost most of his savings in the downturn, kind of needs the money. That's why he sold his 25% in Top Gear.

Reports are stating the BBC has decided not to renew Clarkson's contract.
