This may attract little interest on a Ferrari forum but I recently bought a Morgan Super 3 and it had a real shake down run, driving from Austin to Fayetteville, Ark. for a Brit car meet. The vehicle was checked out thoroughly by the nice folks at the Petrol Lounge, Chris Naylor, a technical specialist showed up at my house at around 6am to make sure I was ready to go. I drove the backroads through the forgotten towns of Texas that were largely abandoned once the Interstate came through. It was fun until it wasn't-- took far too long. I can make Austin to Dallas in a little over 3 hours- I was still wandering outside of Waco hours later. Finally, I put pedal to metal and got East of the Dallas metroplex, but was suffering from too much sun, not enough hydration and checked into a pitstop for the night.
The next morning, I met a few people, including a V-Twin Morgan owner, who were caravanning to the event. We stopped in Paris Texas, because I'm a Harry Dean Stanton fan.
The leg from Oklahoma to Arkansas was nice country roads through Native American highways, we stopped at a roadhouse for lunch, but by the time we were approaching Arkansas, it started to storm like a mother. I was on an Interstate, traveling at 80 mph through heavy rain. It only got worse but we made it. I arrived soaking wet, with sun poisoning, wind burn and some serious road weariness from driving an edgy little vehicle in horrible conditions. I wish I could say it was sunshine and unicorns once we got there, but the weather gods were pissed off! More to follow.

One of the participants, who had a '30s MG racing car, was still driving competitively at the age of 91. I'll try to post an image of the old MG, which was stunning. There were a lot of oddball cars, which is my thing these days....
