    Hey guys

New issue: While preparing to clean the engine bay, I discovered this little situation: a connection seems to be broken, although it has not yet thrown any codes/CELs. I am not sure what I am looking at, so if anyone can help, please chime in...

Do I need to replace the entire 'black canister' or just the connector at the top? Ideas??

It is the black box next to the F1 pump on the drivers rear corner of the car. Thanks

After a little research it seems that is the Anti Evap Device.
The tube that is broken seems to be #45 on Ricambi's Website:
    http://www.ricambiamerica.com/parts_catalogs.php?M=FE&P=&V=diag&I=1453

However, there are 2 types: the USD100 for MY98 and the USD35 for all other MYs. GREAT!! Mine is a MY98.

Can someone tell me why the MY98 would have a different pipe???

Any other way to fix this besdies replacing the pipe?

Won't glue melt due to engine heat?

Doubt if good glue will. No risk in finding out.

If you carefully select the right product AND apply it properly it will likely be all right. Not sure what kind of plastic it's made from (very important, makes a difference). The choice of adhesive or epoxy will make the difference between success and failure. My first choices would be an epoxy or "plastic welder" product designed for repairing plastics. I would probably remove the canister from the car and clean it well and test the glue on an inconspicuous place to see how well it bonds before attempting the repair. You usually only get one shot at it. Trying to re-glue something that fails is a lot harder than the first time and requires that you remove the first product completely. Glue doesn't stick to glue very well.

It should be pretty inexpensive. I would just replace it..
