A few months ago I turned in my seat and reached for something in the back seat of my 2011 Cali and I heard a pop from inside of my seat (Daytona non-racing). Everything seemed ok so I let it go for a while but then at a later date I raised my headrest and saw that the plastic bracket below the headrest was crooked. I took it to the dealer and they disassembled the seat and found broken plastic tabs inside and it looks like I need a new seat.

Anyone else have his/her seat replaced? Does this make any sense that the inside of the seat is weak plastic? Any thoughts appreciated?

Luckily, I'm still under warranty and still love my Cali.

Good grief, a new seat all because you turned in your seat to grab something in the back?!! That's unbelievable. Well, I'm not turning in my Daytona seat anymore then. However, if I may ask, would you also consider yourself to be "A BIG BOY" by any chance?

    Not particularly, at the time about 210 and 5' 8". Now, I'm 188 and still 5' 8" :)

Daytona seats seem pretty sturdy to me, but I'm only 155# :D. Glad it was covered under warranty.

Good grief, 22 lb. drop in "a few months"?!! That's incredible. :D Good for you! We're actually of pretty similar proportions at the moment.

As for the seat, I do find it surprisingly comfortable even though I would rate the non-racing Daytona seat on the stiff side. They are also a fairly slim-fit so if you're robust and broad-shouldered, plastic tabs might well give way on the shoulder bolsters if you turn tightly against them. It seems to me they should have used modular elastic tabs instead of one-piece plastic units.
