My 87 Mondial 3.2 has a drivers side electric mirror that isn't working. Now I'm basically the only driver (my wife has taken only a spin or two) and it really doesn't need to work, but I've fixed my rear bonnet switch and feel ready for the next electrical challenge. The fuse is fine. Where do I start? Thanks in advance. Jay

OK, I don't have a Mondial, but electrical component fixing seems fairly standard.

I guess it could be either the switch, the wiring, or the motor(s) in the mirror.

You could use a standard voltmeter and see what's going on with the voltage at the mirror when you move the switch. Or, you could apply 12v to the mirror wires right at the mirror and see if it moves. I typically use an electric drill battery with wires taped to it for that sort of troubleshooting.

Maybe you should start at the switch. If the whole thing doesn't work it seems likely that 12v isn't even making it to the switch. Are there relays...probably huh, those could be done as well.

Mess with it for a while til you get upset and then just leave it alone til you're bored again. Good luck.

If it's the switch, look in the cross reference list, as I recall it's a BMW part (much cheaper).
