Broken end pipe/new exhaust

Here's some pics of my old Tubi, the endpipe broke at the weld, this happened twice, I replaced it with a Race Capristo level 3, stock headers.

It does look like a carbon steel weld (I didn't know that would work with SS?) Being Tubi, the tubes should all be SS yet they look corroded, could be the splatter from the weld?
Actually the weld looks ok, the pipe has split after the weld as the pipe end is still inside?

By the way it was welded by Ferrari.
