Hi guys! My OEM MK1 headers are broken and I am thinking to order the capristo headers and leave the OEM catalyte converters plus order the capristo 430 racing exhaust system. This is good combination for my car?The reason i am asking is because i want to leave the OEM catalyte converters because is out of my budget to change them.
I think it is very good choice. Will be a bit loud since there is no precatalyst in the manifold and the Capristo Race is loud. Since the loudest you can have is straight throu - and this you achive with the standard muffler - there will be no difference when the vacum valve opens. The difference will be that the first step will be louder. In my case I choosed the Capristo Silent Muffler. Loud enough when opening up and quiet enough when cruising. If I were you I would first change the manifold - listen - and then decide what kind of muffler I want. Here in Sweden we have noice regulations at the tracks, and this was the reason I took a bit more quiet muffler. No idea to have this wonderful car and not being able to drive it on the track. //Anders
I agree with Anders, start to change only the exhaust headers with Capristo Headers + heat shield. But if you change the exhaust headers, Capristo will ask you also to install their exhaust brackets. Their exhaust brackets are different for the stock muffler and for the Capristo mufflers. Keep this in mind I would keep the stock cats. There are of very good quality and if they aren't broken, I don't see any reasons to change them. The main improvement in power/torque will be obtained with the Capristo headers anyway Keep us updated of your choices. I should start a count of the number of brokien MK1 headers !!! And report them to Ferrari... Good luck, you won't be disappointed with the Capristo exhaust headers.
