The suspension warning light on my F355 Spider recently came on. I removed the actuator on each shock one at a time until I found what was causing the problem. The small metal gear located on top of one of the rear shocks was broken. This was causing the actuator to not be able to set the shock properly. I was able to remove the broker gear by pushing out the spine that was holding it in. Can anyone tell me where I can find a replacement gear? I don't want to by a new shock because mine is still in good shape (except for the broken gear). I'm hoping that someone on FerrariChat has an old warn out shock that still has a good gear that they are willing to part with. Any other suggestions would also be appreciated.

    Michael,
Search the archives on this site...someone is rebuilding 355 shocks here as their business, and likely can source you the part. Keep us posted on your progress, as this could benefit all 355 owners.

As Dave suggested, try contacting Rob Schermerhorn at http://www.deltavee.net. Rob is THE expert at 355 Suspensions (he also rebuilds the shocks), and has been a long time supporter of this site.

Try and call Mark Spencer with Voloce Motorsports. 408-369-9792. He has someone who makes them.. I had the same issue with my 550. Very simple to replace.

Give me a ring if you have any questions--415-740-3825.

    Cheers.

Rob at DeltaVee can rebuild 355 shocks. However, when the spindle spins he will not know if he can repair it until he takes it apart. 50/50 chance depending where it broke.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. And dealer only wants to sell them in pairs of 2 - not one. Anyway, I have the old one and if you want to work something out.... This way you won't be without a shock in your car while he's working on it. I think his lead time is 2 weeks.

    Try bayareaferrari's suggestion first....
