    In the process of putting a NOS quarter Panel on the GT4. Its in Brown Primer from the factory. Anyone know what it is? Lacquer Based? Thanx

    If it's brown, it's a pretty sure bet that it's just old lacquer primer. Would definitely Strip it to bare metal and seal it with an epoxy primer. Leave about 1" unprimed at the weld/repair area until welding is completed, finish with a flapper disk and seal that area also. :)

    Ok thx. The quarter is In Great shape. What I did is scuff the inside quarter with 120 then final fit it and marked the wheel well and arch support with a black marker. Then masked off the areas that get weld thru primer and undercoat the rest. I'll use epoxy on the door I had dipped.
