Ok, not trying to go all P&R here, but this is ridiculous.

Posting in [SPORTS] because Jenner was a successful Olympian.

ESPN's decision to award Caitlyn Jenner ESPY courage award sparks anger | Daily Mail Online

An ESPY for courage because he, uh, she "came out?"

    Really??

I thought "courage" was measured in one's ability to persevere, or show grace and dignity in a tough situation. The 19-year-old basketball star referenced in this article, Lauren Hill, was, IMHO courageous.

Jenner is only being a media/attention-whore (like the whole Kartrashian bunch) and deserves nothing but derision for this farce.

So the PC bunch at ESPN want to be PC and give it to someone who's LGBT, ok, fine, but do they have to do this?

Certainly makes them look like utter fools to the majority of Americans who aren't LGBT.

    HAHAhaha. There is no escape!

It's a publicity stunt. Why oh why do people pay attention to it/buy into it? If it weren't a publicity stunt, then he wouldn't have courted the press and released that ridiculous magazine photo. Keep the cameras rolling, that's what that clan of losers does. They'll do anything to keep the spotlight. How much longer can that show go on? seriously? LOL

They look like fools to most of the Gay community too. Freak shows are the last thing most of them want to be associated with and the Kardasian/Jenner clan are for the most part a freak show.

Yes, but my real beef is why ESPN buys into it when there are real examples of courage ripe for the picking??

Do they really live in a vacuum?

I think the answer is, yes, they do. One of the biggest diffs I have seen in my years is that news/sports reporters have gone from reporting news/sports to becoming part of the story. Apparently, for most people, 15 minutes of fame is not enough anymore. I, for one, am glad, "reality" TV has made TV so detestable that apart from sports I no longer watch it, content to spending more of my time working, enjoying hobbies, driving my car, socializing, etc…T
