Martin Brundle expresses it thus : "...you can’t help but feel the Ferrari is fundamentally faster.

"The two best cars in terms of traction are the Ferrari and BMW, I think by some margin – and without traction control this year that’s pivotal.

"At the moment I believe Ferrari are about two-tenths per lap faster than McLaren, and more importantly they can get the softer tyres to last longer. Better traction and less tyre degradation is a winning recipe."

Hopefully this trend continues. BMW seem to be, with Kubica at least a serious challenge.

Ron Dennis has said 'judge us in Spain'. This far, McLaren seem to be slipping back against Ferrari and BMW.

That's the breaks, but at least they have not fallen back to the same level as Honda or Toyota - yet.

I think it is kind of incredible how McLaren have fallen back a bit, and how the Renault is catching up.

Any word on what failed in Alonzo's engine. Was he on race 1 or 2 of that engine?
