i actually have a 1:18 scale model of a red Mythos...i must have gotten it when that prototype came out circa 1990. i wonder how rare those are! haha (am willing to trade 1:18 red Mythos for 1:1 Ferrari of any type)
one of the 456 estates was for sale in last weeks sunday times again....asking price £189,000...bit steep for me.
Yeah, they're not so rare that they're expensive; i hope to, one day, add one to the collection... ...actually two; one Mythos and one Mythos roadster...
that gray rhd F40 with the red pinstripe is now in the UK, i saw it a few years back at the brooklands ferrari festival (bad ferrari turnout). Wish i had known it was rare i would have taken tons of pix
please don't kill me for saying this but.....its rather ugly in person....there was a red one a few feet away and that one drew my attention off the grey one. i'll try to get the pix up..
i'm so mad at myself now that i didn't take more. grrr heres the pic: http://speed.*************/boardpics/2003-11-20/1821681-mini%20magica.jpg
to put a few things to rest: taylor and crawley, a high end dealer in london has recieved many of the sultans cars including the 456 Estate and a Yellow McLaren F1, more to be confirmed soon. The F50 Bolide that someone said was a rebodied F50 is a rebodied F50 but aparently doesn't exist anymore. He aparently has 8 mclaren F1's (7 if you deduct the yellow one now in New York - Chassis #014) and owns a replica of the LeMans 1995 winning car (001R). The replica is 009R btw, here is a pic: The other person that has a huge collection of cars is named Jefri Bolkiah, here is the top gear article someone mentioned: Page 1 : http://speed.*************/boardpics/2003-11-7/1775330-mini%20magica.jpg Page 2 : http://speed.*************/boardpics/2003-11-7/1775332-mini%20magica.jpg Page 3 : http://speed.*************/boardpics/2003-11-7/1775334-mini%20magica.jpg
About the F50 Bolide it was a car built for the Sultan but he didn't like it. Now I wanna know if the car really had an engine inside or it was simply a car with a body and wheels. Doesn't exist anymore? he destroyed it?
i don't know, i have heard that it didn't have an engine too. I heard from someone (who would probably know) that it doesn't and never did exist, but these pix clearly prove it did, so i'm not sure. It was aparently a design study on the F50GT and no cars were completed or delivered. I want to see more pix of it!
I have only 3 pics of the F50 Bolide and I think those are the only pics that people saw of this car.
Elsewhere in this post someone mentioned a design stufy by PF - this is correct. I have an autocar from 5-6 years ago with pictures of all these cars. The story there about the Bolide is that this is just a styling buck (made in Clay/Fiberglass etc) it was made by PF as part of a presentation to the Sultan so that he might buy a few. Planned to be F50 based, but NOT a basis for the GT. He didn't like it so a real car was never made. I'd be surprised if the buck was destroyed I'm sure its in someone's private museum. But as far as I know no real car was ever made.
yes i'm sorry, it was based on the regular F50, not the GT. Looking over my pix i seem to have an F50 Bolide pic that i haven't seen on any of the sites posted. I'll also include some other pix: Bolide: Aston AM2 (not sure its the AM2, headlights are different): Another Pic of the AM2: Bentley GT (Not the new one): Front of FX: Interior of FX: His colection (Numerous rare 456's are visible)
