For anyone who uses a BSMpdi electronic ignition installed in their Dino and found that the coil is getting quite hot after a while, here is a fix.

The coil included in the setup is a Bosch TCI coil (0 221 122 334 as example), the operation parameters by Bosch are specified at 8.0 ampere max current and 4.8 ms max dwell.

The default (custom) parameters in the BSM setup are 10.0 ampere with a max dwell of 6.2 ms, this drives the coil in saturation which in turn will create a lot of heat. Change the setting in the BSM control software to 8.0 A current and 4.8 ms, and the coil will get warm but not hot, while retaining the full ignition power.
