So the past two times I’ve taking my 550 out for a drive, when I get back, there is a bubbling sound that can be heard from the cockpit... and it’s coming from right behind me where I believe the fuel tank is. You can’t hear it outside.

I really hope what I’m not hearing is boiling fuel, but can anyone else help explain what this could possibly be?

The first drive I took last week was a highway drive. When I got back it continued for quite some time.

Today I took it for a local drive with some “spirited” stints in the curvey sections. When I got back I let the car sit outside for about 10 minutes to cool down (I noticed putting the car in my garage the moment I was done last time rendered my garage hotter than it should have been for nearly a day). When I got back in and backed it into the garage and shut down, I heard it again, for a short period.

I opened the gas cap, normal pressure and the little air that did escape wasn’t hot... so that’s my one hint that it’s NOT boiling fuel - if it were I’d assume there would be an enormous escape of vapors.... unless there’s some sort of backflow check valve. Any thoughts? I’m a little concerned.

Car is running totally great otherwise.
