Wow. Up by three tenths in the Red Bull over Vettel on the second of three days (first for Vettel in the car) subbing for Weber, who is on the mend.

Cumulative times from all Jerez tests here: http://www.manipef1.com/testing/2008/tracks.php?id=7

    The Swiss is good!

I wonder how long before the "Vettel is washed up, Buemi is the man!" threads start appearing....... :D

    I sure do.

Vettel is the next mega champion (and before anybody gets upset here, that comment from Schumacher himself). Yet Buemi beat him!

That means at the minimum that Buemi is friggen fast. Whether he has all the rest remains to be seen. And the only way to find out is to give him a F1 seat.

And RedBull does it again: Finds the next super star. While it quietly kicks out the lame ones through the back door. Goodbye Seabass, goodbye DC, goodbye Speed.

So, one could really assume that, Red Bull DOES give you wings!

It isn't uncommon for the 2nd drivers, or even the less competitive cars to have better times testing/practice than the better drivers/cars. Buemi is definatelty good, but I haven't read or seen anything to suggest he's as good as Vettel.

I didn't say he is as good as Vettel. But he is fast, very fast.

You want a good source? Here is one, if not one of the best (Motorsport Aktuell):

    http://www.motorsport-aktuell.com/formel-1/news/wieder-buemi-7669.html

They mention that both drivers were trying all kinds of setups all day long.
