Was this from the scene of the crash? What's the context of the photo?

It's the photo used in the Lufkin article, kinda odd that they would use that picture unless they want to stir something else up.

Another project perhaps. There's got to be a reason why that shot is staged like that.

I picked up the paper at lunch, the Associated Press has it datelined Beaumont:

    Anyway, the pelican is CLEARED!!!

They fly north/south along the Causeway, so I called "bullsheeit" on the pelican story from the first thread

I'm trying to remember, was the pelican bugatti guy also the guy who also had the enzo wrecked by eddie something (comedian?)

If so, he was in the exotic salvage business wasn't he? So I guess a pickup full of bugatti veyron parts and hanging out with Richard would be all in a days work. Maybe not parts from the U-boat

U Boat was silver, but could be changing out panels to replace damaged ones.

No, the Bugatti guy was from Lufkin.
I think there was an Enzo there..

The wrecked Enzo was rebuilt in Conroe.

Lots of pine trees in both places, so I see your confusion...

That is strange to use that picture. There had to be a reason. Unless all car people look the same to non-car people. Lol

    So:

BEAUMONT — A 39-year-old Lufkin, Texas man has pleaded guilty to federal violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today.

Andy Lee House pleaded guilty to an Information charging him with wire mail fraud today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Keith Giblin.

    And:

    The Lufkin Daily News
EXCLUSIVE: Discovery Channel’s “Fast N’ Loud” hot rod hunter Richard Rawlings made a top-secret deal Thursday morning with Lufkin exotic car dealer Andy House.
“I was a little nervous,” House said. “They didn’t tell me what to say. I had to come up with it on my own. They were nice guys.”

So, Andy House bought it and drove it into the pond. Andy House pleads guilty. Andy House still has the car. Andy House sold it to Fast N Loud.

    Interesting.

If he made a insurance claim on the car wouldn't they have it? I am not an attorney but if he still had the car how could they get him for fraud ?

I find it hard to believe that Richard Rawlings would take a project like that on. Not to be rude at all. But with all the technology in that Bugatti. It would be very very expensive to get the people with the know how to fix it.

No the point of the case was the fraud.
    Insurance rejected his scam.

So he had a soggy Bug to sell, before he appeals and then goes to prison.

He may have to appeal FROM prison, on a Federal conviction??

That looks like a cut up Enzo, to me.....????
Why would they have chopped the Bugatti???

It just needed the "New Orleans Katrina detail package"

He let the Bugatti run until it hydrolocked on salt water.

I doubt there's enough money or parts support in the world to fix that car...

RR and his running buddies are even better at PR than they are at the car business.

Looking at the video and reading his story about reaching for his cell phone, the story does not seem to be inconsistent with the video (at least beyond a reasonable doubt). So he must have either cracked under questioning on someone ratted him. The way I see it.
