Bugatti to form part of a new joint company Image Unavailable, Please Login Today, Porsche and Rimac Automobili have finalized the plans to establish a new joint venture including Bugatti, named Bugatti Rimac. The two companies‘ CEOs Oliver Blume and Mate Rimac signed the relevant contracts, establishing the share split in Bugatti Rimac with 55 percent being held by Rimac Automobili and 45 percent by Porsche. The formation of the joint company is due to take place in the fourth quarter of 2021, subject to the approval of antitrust authorities in several countries. Bugatti will be brought into the joint company by current owner Volkswagen and the shares will then be transferred to Porsche. The new company Bugatti Rimac combines the genes of both strong brands. Together they form an attractive automotive company, for customers as well as for employees. Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. will remain at its historic headquarters in Molsheim, France, where it was founded in 1909. Bugatti has always stood at the pinnacle of the automotive industry, exceeding the dreams of its customers and enthusiasts around the globe. Name of company should be : Rimac-Porsche-Bugatti (too confusing of course - Porsche owns 24% of Rimac and 45% of Bugatti-Rimac ) They went with 'Bugatti-Rimac' because of Bugatti's name recognition and cachet. Most people have never heard of Rimac. .
Well there must have been undeniable financial reasons to do this. Bugatti only produces approx. 70 cars a year. ...... .
Lest anyone think otherwise, Rimac just saved Bugatti. He may have also insured Porsche's future rather than them also being relegated to a once great and storied brand 25 - 30 years from now. Bold take? Not really. We're talking about a guy who went from zero to Porsche and other manufacturers having a partial ownership in all of what, 12 years. Rimac has something other's need as these companies don't collaborate publicly, sing other's praises, give away money....or brands. So, whatever it is his company has/owns, it must be magnitudes better than what they have or can be purchased substantially less than costs for them to figure out something competitive. Good for Rimac. Seems like a super good guy.

Absolutely love the idea of these 2 coming together,.... With any luck we'll be seeing something new soon enough from Bugatti in the form of a Chiron successor,... Then a second model... Let's not forget that with the 2 coming together we will see Bugatti be saved going into the Electric Age of the industry.
