    Dixit: Barchetta CC.

The Dr. Peter and Susan Williamson Collection, the world’s finest collection of Bugattis, will be sold at Gooding & Company’s Pebble Beach auction on August 16 and 17 in Monterey, California. This monumentous sale, expected to raise more than $15 million, marks a rare opportunity for bidders to compete to buy some of the world’s most valuable automobiles.

In my opinion, the Bugatti Atlantic #57374 will be sold outside auctions, the prices may be even higher than at an auction. Candidates for this magnificent Atlantic first built what is more, do not miss.

In Summer 2008, as a response to customer request, Bugatti is introducing a new model – the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport, a roadster with a unique, removable roof.

The world’s most exclusive car combines the ultimate in performance with the pleasure of open-top driving. The sophisticated design of its bodywork and aerodynamic components directs the airflow over the heads of driver and passenger so they feel no draught.

As well as a large number of new equipment features, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport also incorporates innovative structural solutions designed to ensure that the roadster offers the same extremely high levels of passive safety as the coupe.

In keeping with Ettore Bugatti’s exclusive product philosophy, many design features that make this possible are unique in contemporary automotive engineering.

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport is the world’s fastest and most exciting roadster, and will be displayed to the public for the first time on the afternoon of August 16, 2008, outside The Lodge at Pebble Beach.

The highest bidder will have the opportunity to specify their new car at the factory in Molsheim/Alsace by bidding on the first customer car at Gooding & Company's Pebble Beach Auction on August 17th.

Saw this on FastLaneDaily just now. Wow.

And the first one goes to the highest bidder. When the ZR1 can sell for a million, how much do you think some fellow will give for one of these?! I wonder how the performance will be affected?

Who knows, but I love that top!

Looks nice. I like the top. Those rims are not cutting it IMO though :)
Notice the lines around the "bonnet"? Seem different. What is that button by the seat belt?

Yeah, just like on the Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster where Lambo recommend you do not go above 100 mph. Funny.

But the hard-top works fine I'm sure!

You have to remember that the ZR1 sold for a million... but it was donated to charity

I know, but the idea still is about how much somebody will pay for it. But the charity do nation always helps an auction.

Those buttons are on both sides...they release the roof panel. The Temporary roof is really a cool idea. it weighs nothing....is cloth and carbon fiber and looks like an umbrella for easy one person intallation. Once installed the carbon fiber handle screws off. The temp roof is only meant for when unexpected inclement weather arrives....considering the glass roof panel is at home and you are not. I had a private one on one with the Bugatti reps at a Rented Mansion on one of the Fairways at Pebble Beach about two hours before the official unveiling... and they demo'd it all for me....and sitting in the car is an amazing experience....much more than the Enzo....but different cars.

Bugatti boss Dr Franz-Josef Paefgen has said that the company will replace the Veyron supercar around 2012 with another ultra high-end model. The confirmation confounds previous speculation that Bugatti would be wound-up when Veyron production comes to an end.

“We will be staying on top of everybody else and we will not be producing a smaller, or cheaper car and we will not be moving volumes up. Bugatti customers are very extreme people,” he told Autocar.

Paefgen said that Bugatti hasn’t finally decided on the new model. One high-level source told us that the company was considering a second model line possibly a luxury saloon to rival the Rolls-Royce Phantom. He also told us that advanced biofuel technology was being considered and even diesel.

The possibility of Bugatti sharing components with Bentley is also being discussed at a high level. If Bugatti was to give the go ahead to a saloon, the car would be likely to share a platform, and other major components, with the next Arnage, due in 2012.

Autocar has also learned Bugatti will build an even more extreme version of the Veyron as the end of the current model’s production cycle. Although it is still officially denied by the company, we understand that some customers have put deposits down on a more powerful 'GT' version.

According to Bugatti engineering boss, Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber, it will be possible to get more power and torque from the 987bhp, quad-turbocharged 16-cylinder engine:

"We can go to 1106lb ft of torque and we currently have [922lb ft] - and with a turbocharged engine, engineers are always working on getting higher power." There has been speculation that the Veyron GT could top 1200bhp and be capable of 270mph.
