Has it been confirmed on which rpm Tourbillon produces the max power? It seems Bugatti is not sharing this information in their specs. They only mention max revs 9000 rpm.
I like the Toubillon as a car. But I am struggling to adjust to the new direction under the new owners. Seems like they went more the hyper car route. Hyper cars seem to be plenty now. The Veyron and Chiron were hyper GT's, a more unique segment. Veyron, Chiron were focused on comfort/luxury regardless of a weight penalty, but still supreme performance. The big diffuser and scissor doors, speak a different language of the previous cars. I'm surprised they chased the scissor door hyper car craze. If VW were still owners, I think they would stuck with more unique hyper GT route.
According to Bugatti, Tourbillon V16 engine revs to 9000 rpm. However, there are lots of web pages that quote 9500 rpm. Apparently this error is a result of sound analysis based on video or audio where 9500+ rpm was detected. Alternatively someone has interpreted the tachometer reading wrong. One person also mentioned that Rimac had said it revs to 9500 rpm. I don't know if such thing has been actually said, but would be nice to know. For now, I suspect that Bugatti did run the engine 9500 rpm in the dyno but limited production revs to 9000 rpm.
Good to see that the designer had his 1972/3 edition of Automobile Year out so he could steal the steering wheel/instrument package from the Maserati Boomerang!
