Bugatti Veyron

I was watching the Top Gear episode where Jeremy Clarkson races the other two, hes in the Bugatti and they are in a airplane. He says that it cost Volkswagon 6 Million dollars to make each one and that there taking a steep loss on each car just to see if a car of that magnitute could be built. Is this True?

 

That's one HECK of an expensive Volkswagen...

 

Mr. Kalikow just bought one, so maybe I will get to see one this summer- I cant wait!!! I'm not the hugest fan of the looks, but it grows more on me everytime I see it. Great pics, by the way.

 

Just watched a French vid with the same car (or same colour combo).

 

damn, I would kill to get that car.

 

Bugatti makes a gross profit on each Veyron they sell. They are not making cars to lose money. BUT .. Bugatti has spent something like $1.8 B getting the company up to speed and creating this supercar. So if they take 1.8B / 300 units, that is where they get the $6mm number

 

Remember, Bugatti is going to make more than just the Veyron going forward, no need to try and pay for the entire company on 300 units...

 

I heard they were making a drop-top version...

 

Wow the color ready suits the beast! I would do almost anything.... hehe
