    I know, I know, but I am allowed a vice. I've always liked the style of these, but haven't seen one in the last 20 years, and there's a project for sale here right now.

    Any pics, as well as pro's and cons appreciated!

    I always liked them too

    This guy did a nice job on his, I'd black it all out, slam it down, bigger different wheels & update the interior more

    A neighbour had a '73 (GS) when we were growing up and probably still has it. Outside of limited room in the back seat, it was pretty much a typical Buick; quiet, smooth and not all that quick, even though the owner thought it was. A cruiser.

    Same here, that black one has nasty wheels.

    My Grandpa was a Buick man. He had a '66 Wildcat, '70 Skylark GS and a '86 Regal T Type.

    Great pics and info, keep'em coming!

    The thing is that I am in South Africa and that anything at all that is missing from it has to come from overseas. I have never driven one, although that is of secundary importance. I like the style of it, and see it something like the last attempt of the bug US auto-makers to create something really special.
    The car I found is healthy body-wise, but all interior, glass and mechanicals are out of the car, basically a rolling shell and a pile of boxes/parts. Scary, actually.

    Now, if I'd really wanted a good one, with the pointed rear bumper (not a straight one, as \I believe the last model had), what would I have to pay in the US?

    Same here and the '72 was the last with the pointy tail. The '73's were smoothed over to accomodate the 5 mph shock absorbing bumpers (or maybe it was 5 in the front and 2.5 out back). Don't forget the walrus tooth bumber guards up front. You've probably been here already http://www.buick-riviera.com/

    this is my personal car.. check it out its for sale.. NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED!!
    car is majorly custom..... exhaust, lowered, 20's, stereo, starts right up every time, and is pure and simple SICK!
    this is a GS model... 455 engine.. turbo transmission..... garaged and in outstanding shape.

    major head turner.... anybody who has seen this car was shocked.... more impressionable in person.
