I'm wondering if anyone knows how to find out the build month/year for this F355 which is for sale on copart. It's a burn victim.

Was about 700 cars after mine.

    Mine was built November 1997.

Damn she's a nasty burn victim.... what a shame. Although, I must admit, I can see some panels in there that make her worth the money to someone who needs certain pieces and parts.

Don't pay too much for her...

Looks like just the front clip and driver door ok.

I'd love to know what happened...

Buy it and then do an investigation.

If you watch the cars that go through Copart and IAAI you will see lots of Ferrari and Lambos that go out this way. Way too many. Something about Italian sports cars... They like to burn.

Mid-engined cars do not seem to like sitting traffic.

IMO the Challenge Grill should've been default on 355's.

Heat in the engine bay does not cause fire. However, the fuel tank filler passes right by a hot header. One drop leak and bye-bye car.

Im seeing more fires from people reving their engines.

    Capristo warns about this.

    Disabled or ignored SDL.

    Leaking fuel filler pipe.

Ketel talked about seeing his cat glowing in the dark.

Badabing recently posted about tracking down his fuel smell issue.

    Pay attention to this stuff.

My old 355 burned at one point at the gas station. Was pumping gas turned around for a moment and gas was shooting in the air. Some of it got in the engine bay. Right away puff flames. This was after a nice run so the engine bay was hot as it can be.
Anyways, the fire extinguisher is handy. It hardly put anything out but I guess slowed down the flames. Emptied the one from the car and 3 large cans of fire extinguishers until the fire department showed up and blasted the engine bay.
