Building a 1971 Miura P400 SV model... HELP!

Hello all

I have finally decided to build a 1/24 scale Miura P400 SV model kit I have had for years. It isn't the world's most detailed kit, but the body looks real nice.

I have already found out from folks here that you could get the wheels/lower valance in gold OR silver. I am going with silver. I also found a list of colors the cars came in, though I am not sure if some colors were used only in certain years.

I've been looking at some photos for details, but there are a few details I am stuck on:

1) I have seen the wheel knock-offs in both chrome and painted versions, with and without center caps. What is correct for this model?

2) After looking at colors, I decided to go with (of all things) AMC Big Bad Blue, a bright light/medium blue, non-metallic. Was this possibly a bad decision? Will I have to pretend it was a "custom order" car??

3) Are the front/rear coil over shocks really supposed to be green or blue? I went with a light blue, but some photos show green ones.

4) Is the paint finish on the lower valance (silver or gold) as glossy as the rest of the body paint?

5) should the vents on the top of the dash have black or silver surrounds?

I will probably have more questions later...

 

Looks like I won't be getting much help, but I will ask a couple more questions, just in case:

1) Why didn't all Miuras have side view mirrors? Were they optional?

2) Did all cars have little red reflectors on the rear honeycomb section?

 

AHA! SO I need to make some small red reflectors... CHECK!

 

I have seen that page. Of course, screen colors are far from accurate. I hope to post photos soon. Right now I am working on those little red markers for the rear...
