Great stuff. When I saw it, I thought: "Now that's what a car-guy would do..."! You were actually able to find a Baldwin match for that furnace? I know they have alot of filters that go back a long ways, but for that?
So I'm guessing you won't be keeping maintenence "notes" on the front of the furnace any more? Cool paint job. By the way that yellow in the flames looks a little familiar...Hmmm I wonder???
You got me! It is Giallo Fly and Rosso Scuderia.......................................................................................................................................................................................................... Actually it's Krylon John Deere Yellow and Sunrise Red
DITCHES DITCHES DITCHES! 260 feet of ditches for the 400 amp service from the street. 200 for the house and 200 for the garage. Had to clean half of them out twice due to the dang rain all last week! What kind of September is this?! Used a Ditch Witch on most of it but had to do the 80 feet from the back of the house to the garage by hand. All of it 30 inches deep. All sand too. A mad race against time and the impending winter weather. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
28' wide by 24' deep. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
No! These were REAL finishers. Between ditches and curing concrete my car will be trapped for a couple of weeks. We pulled the cables for the 400 amp service from the road and the 200 amp cables to the shop. Glad I had help. There was no way I could have done it by myself. As it was we were both wiped out by lunch time. That is some heavy stuff!
There oughtta be a law! You are having an open garage party right? (-: You should be very proud of this!
Do I see grunge grates. Not sure what to call them but the drains you drive over going into parking structures to keep the water out?
With luck the open house will be next year. I will be doing all of the interior work myself, framing in the gables, running all of the electrical, insulation, sheetrock, sound system and of course a TV or two. It always seems to take twice as long as anticipated.
Yes you see grunge grates. They are plumbed into 3" ABS directly beneath. The ABS also handles the downspouts and runs into the catch basin shown in the first post of this thread.
I say that look's good .If you need any help I'd be more than happy to drive up and help rope the garage with you . Give me a good excuse to check out the z to .
I was just surfing through this region... This is an amazing thread! Nice work, spasso! From Feb to Sept... quite a picture story! If only everyone was so talented and dedicated to the work! Good luck with the final touches - it looks awesome. Byron (So Cal)
Thanks Byron, I do get some satisfaction out of doing this work but there are days when I want it to be done yesterday. It will take me all winter to wire, insulate, sheetrock and finish. Ugh! DJ
1. Shown is the 1952 vintage overhead mast. 2. 1952 power pole. Note; The wires leading out the bottom of the picture feed the house! 3. New 400 amp meter base. 4. Ready to backfill today! I will NOW have enough power to build................FRANKENKAR Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
