This poor dog just did not know when to stop.... I laughed at first, some dog's are so determined: email from the owner: "Somewhere out there is a naked Porcupine. Inca apparently did not know when to quit when she encountered the porcupine on Victoria Day, May 23rd. These are the pictures the vet sent before the long (and expensive) procedure to remove the quills. She had thousands of quills, and her tongue was so covered, she could not close her mouth. It was pretty scary at first. She is doing okay now, but looks like a World War III survivor as they had to cut some out in places, stitched between her toes, and many quills bled on removal. There are still quills buried in her, but they should work their way out over time (I pulled four more today). She is on antibiotics and pain meds and thankfully is doing quite well. Ha, that dude got nicely pwned. I'd still way rather take that hit though than 15,000 quills in the face.
I used to cowboy on a ranch in HS years. The owners dog a german shepard got into it at least once a month. We would close its head in the door and pull the quills out one by one with linesman pliers. The mouth was always loaded. The dog never learned and was always out for revenge. 3+ years latter. But I've never seen anything close to what your dog had. What a mess!
Agreed. I have taken a hit (maybe not THAT hard, but still a tough shot) but I have trouble getting shots at the docters office...that must hurt; and not to mention the scars it will leave!
That guy's jaw was broken in three places and is probably still wired shut! (Wreckin' crew!!) But, probably better then a thousand quills to the face.
