Not continue to guess?? Why not? Not bug/pressure him for an answer perhaps but there's no reason for people not to guess. Someone will be the lucky "winner" when he does tell us. Let's not take the little fun out of this sad situation :-(
Lol. Actually, this is pretty entertaining. Merak, Stratos... no one said Jalpa yet. * * And they would be wrong if they did.
Bullfighter is probably moving up to an early 80's 2valve 308 like mine. Seriously though, as far as guesses in the affordable range, check out replica GT40s (built and being built) here: www.gt40s.com. Once you've driven one of these 450hp mid-engine classics you're kinda spoilt really.....
A simple question Jon.... do you happen to own any Chris Rea albums?? Say, oh, I don't know.... perhaps "The Road to Hell?" Any favorite song on the album?? Maybe track 7? The jig is up, come clean. You'll feel better and you will thank me for it later.
Oh, I was going for mid-ship V-6's as was suggested earlier in the thread. The Jalpa is a V-8, so I ruled it out. In V-6's the choice is actually quite limited. Wait, another springs to mind, actually a very versatile car, out of which you can make any Ferrari you'd like: A Fiero???
I don't think Daytonas have dropped to the sub-$150K barrier yet, have they? Tough call if a move from a 328 (well-sorted) to a Daytona could be considered a step 'up'.....below 150 mph you probably have near-identical performance numbers, with the 328 edging the thin-tire'd Daytona in the handling category but I'll reserve judgement until Bullfighter speaks....
BMW M1 would be quite the collector's choice and quite a rare one to boot... However, I too hear Chris Rea's "Daytona" playing in my head...a chance to own a legend...
I got it!!! Jon is replacing the 328 with a 1973 Datsun B210 w/honeycomb hubcaps .......... !!! http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://nozama.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54ed05fc2883301156e51711d970c-400wi&imgrefurl=http://www.carlustblog.com/2009/03/datsun-b210.html&usg=__SGlWjTrXODkliJHAzZisFxTjrXM=&h=300&w=400&sz=26&hl=en&start=20&um=1&tbnid=wwXjfFpqiery-M:&tbnh=93&tbnw=124&prev=/images%3Fq%3Ddatsun%2Bb210%2Bhoney%2Bbee%26ndsp%3D18%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Dactive%26rlz%3D1T4GGIH_enUS282US282%26sa%3DN%26start%3D18%26um%3D1 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Asking $55k. Let's look at the facts: - For an award-winning car. - In a rare color. - Original tools, jack, and books. - Owner bordering on being a perfectionist. - Hundreds of posts on fchat documenting the car's history. Could be priced $5k too low. But, then again, no radio.
