I'm kind of attempting a Maurizio Corbi-style drawing here, using all the traditional medias I use to design cars...markers, pastels, white gouache..etc.

Thanks guy, and yes Webby...that's the original photograph that Paul wanted drawn. He thought that photograph showed the lines of the car the best, and I think I'd agree. Gotta love that sweeping bottom rocker line out to the rear wheels.

[EDIT] Also, as an aside, I decided to just negate drawing the tree reflections into the drawing, because without seeing the trees in the drawing (which you wouldn't because they're not captured in the photograph) it'd just look a little weird seeing as how the trees have a vericose vein effect going on around the hood areas.

Wonderful work!!! I love the way you have captured "colour" in the black. The blues from the sky-reflections, the browns from the ground etc... and the graduations are fabulous. Would love to see other works. Website? or more pics?
Please keep us posted on the piece..

Where, I ask, can one go to see more art in the process of being born, than what we are currently experiencing right here on Fchat? You artists blow my mind!!!

    What a joy, Hank

Thanks everyone. Sorry Rush, but this is my payment for Paul giving me a ride in his car last fall. He had mentioned that if I had time, he'd love to see me draw his car, and then he emailed me this photo, so I plan on giving the drawing to him in person in the coming weeks. A little early Christmas present if you will.

Grant, thanks for the kind words, esp. coming from you hands. Getting the colors to read as warm and cool and still read the car as black is always a challenge, but I like doing black car renderings the best, so hopefully this will come out alright. I am currently working on getting a portfolio site up and running, but first I need more work that I can show. Believe it or not, this is the first colour car illustration I've ever done for someone. Normally I just do them in ebony, but I wanted the challenge. After I get a few more of these done perhaps I'll work on getting a site up and running.

I have to Jungathart's blu sera testarossa next, and then webby had a special request as well, so I'll keep everyone updated. I did some more work on the driver's side of the car and window, so I will add a few pictures to the thread tonight.

    Thanks for the support.

Another hobby of mine is photography. You can see some of it here:

Hank, that six-speed gated shifter ring is amazingly well done. Loving it.

Yeah, I will make museum prints on archival paper. Just PM me sometime and I'll fill you in. Obviously it will be cheaper if more people want them, but if there's not a huge demand that's alright too.

Beautiful! What do you estimate the price and size to be? Don't get your hopes up, I don't think I'll be able to buy one unless they are really cheap, but just curious.
