Has anyone removed the rear bumper on thier 458 and if so is there a video thread or detailed instructions about how to remove it. Mine has to be removed due to an unfortunate small accident.

Normal guy supercar goes through it on his YouTube channel. I’m going to be doing it soon as well - looks fairly simple. I’m upgrading the fog light surrounds to carbon fiber.

It's really simple, a bit time consuming first time finding all the bolts.
Remove the diffuser first, easiest if you have a lift or get the rear up on jack stands first.
I put a jack underneath the diffuser, remove the 6 allen head bolts most rearward and 10mm bolts at the front of the diffuser then lower it down.

Remove the rear wheels and the wheel liners, there are two liners each side split down the middle, you only need to remove the ones facing rearward, I think 8 or 10 bolts, don't recall exactly. All the bolts are easy to see and get to, there is one that screws up from under the bumper, it's not obvious and you will need to get on the floor to see it.

Disconnect the main electrical plug and one smaller plug.

Remove the lights, there are 3 bolts holding them on, use a 10mm socket with a short extension bar. The two at the bottom are easy to get to, the top one a bit more tricky and have to feel your way to it.

There are three bolts each side holding the the bumper on, one inside where the light sits and two just below there inside the wheel well.

Now you just need to give it a tug to pull it off, there are some metal clips that insert into a channel around the center of the bumper, it's a bit disconcerting at first, but keep it level and pull directly away.

No worries, couple more things to add...

Keep track of where the diffuser bolts and 6 bolts holding the bumper on came from, they are not all the same length or have the same size washers.

Also, once it's off, make sure to tilt it over and lay it face down. If you place it straight down there's not much of the bumper contacting the ground supporting the weight and it will flex the corners, pretty sure that's how I ended up with some hairline cracking in the paint.
