Burning PS2 games????

    Is there a way to burn PS2 games. I am tired of buying $50 games for my boys and in a month it is so scratched up it wont play. Would like to burn the game when I first get it and put it away so if they screw it up I have a copy instead of spending $50 again. I have bought and installed aDVD burner on the computer and tryed to burn one last night. It seemed to burn fine, but when I tryed to play it on the PS2 it said a Playstation formatted disc needed to be inserted. I am sure it is possible to do and not illegal to burn a game you have already purchased as a backup.

    I know a guy who knows a guy (seriously) who has a "cracked" PS2 that lets him play burnt disks. I don't think you can do it without getting that track for your system. I am not positive though, I wasn't interested enough when I met him to inquire further.

    Rather than burning disks, you can always rent or borrow the CD ROMS & put them all on one hard drive. How many games can you store on it? Let's assume that you have a 120GB HDD and the average size of your games is 2GB, 120GB / 2GB = 60 games.

    You need a PS2 mod chip to be installed on your PS2 to be able to play the copied games. I do not own a PS2 but several of my friends regularly play copied PS2 games using this mod chip. You usually have to give your PS2 to someone to install it. If you have good soldering experience, you can pick them up on ebay i think for 10$ or so. All you need to do is solder it to the board in 3 places.

    Thanks-I will order that enhancer set. Last ? --Can I use a CD+R to burn the game or is that to much info. Should I burn it to a DVD+R.
