Having my suspension gone through properly and while my bushings haven't totally perished, they're definitely getting old. Any consensus on what bushings to get? Good kits for all of them out there? Thanks,
Control as upper,/lower inner/outter, upper lower ball joints, tie rod ends, lower shock bushing and upper shock tower pad. Found them on eBay from Maserati source or sonething like that. Also aw Italian is good. First stop is check Ricambi however. Then go from there. Sent using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I purchased my front and rear sets from Superformance UK. If you have a press, various sockets and an angle grinder you can do it relatively easily. I fabricated a tool to hold the control arms while pressing the bushings out that made it much easier. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I haven't done this job yet but saw this video that makes it seem pretty straightforward with the right tools
Pressing them in in trivial with a press. I assume to press them you you have to use a grinder with a cut off wheel to remove 2 ears so you have a lip to press against. I cut mine out with a saws all, as soon as you create a break it releases tension and you can nock them out. I have a press kit like that, using a 12 ton press from harbor freight was simply easier and costs little Plus you can use it for other things like shock bushings. That press kit comes in handy for the collars alone for shocks, cam seals, pumpkin bearings etc. I made these collars.
Hey guys... I just replaced all my bushings using the same Maserati guy as mentioned above (Maseratainet) - however I am having an issue when I torque down the arms to the chassis - the bushings are binding and the arms do not move... Did you guys have any issues with these bushings?
As your other thread these bushings are meant to be torqued down with the wheels under preload and the car at ride height.
