Thanks Mark, I remember the Indy car illustration well but it was not mine, it was done by a good friend of mine and great illustrator named Wayne Watford. If I remember right it was a poster. Wayne was known for his detailed cutaways of automobiles and motorcycles........really amazing work!
Wow, thanks, There were so many great automotive illustrators at the time, some of us shared the same styles while others went in a more painterly way. My friend and Design/Art Director for many years at Road & Track, Bill Motta is one of my favorites, his work just blows me away. Ken Dallison, Richard Corson, Jim Dietz, Dennis Christianson, Bill Neal, John Jodouga, the list goes on. All amazing talents with a passion for the craft and automobiles.
Just finished a couple illustrations for FChat members. I'll post this one first of Jim's (F355jimv) beautiful 355 Spyder shown simply here with his favorite palms.......what fun to do! I'll post the other illustration soon. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dennis, I was always amazed at the detailed cutaways... did you ever try any of those? I would love to see one if you have. Mis Mr. Watford still active? I don't know if it was his cutaways I remember, or someone else's... but they were absolutely amazing. And you, my friend, are a great talent... Mike in Kuwait
