    Guys,

I know I am still new here and no one has actually met me but I have an interesting business idea I would like to share with anyone who might be interested. It is automobile related and invovles F-cars along with other sports cars and exotics. Shoot me an email if you might be interested at [email protected]

    Thanks

Dood, it's gonna take more info than that for anyone to take you seriously...

I would rather not post the entire business plan here on the forum, however it is similar to P1 International which is in the UK at the moment. What info would you like??

IMHO, US market would be difficult for this - it works in the UK (Classic Car Club) and there is a guy who started one in Australia using the same model as the Classic Car Club. Makes sense in Australia as cars are expensive relative to income, and insurance/liability concerns aren't completely out of control like they are in America.

Not saying it isn't a good idea but for my money you would have to assemble some seriously otherwise unobtainable toys in order to make it interesting. Cars and petrol are cheap in the States compared to so many other countries that the "value proposition" for the US market would have to be really exclusive.

Additionally, the way F-chatters seem to swap rides and drives for the sheer pleasure of sharing their toys also suggests an uphill battle for you.

Having said all of that, good luck on your plan. I put together a pretty comprehensive set of numbers for a Classic Car Club set up in Australia a number of years ago but was, shall we say, "capital constrained".

    Cheers
    Kevin

OK, you want a business idea, here it is:

It seems like my wife is always being invited to these theme parties: Pampered chef, longenberger baskets, etc.

What about a male centered theme party: The hosts would sell tools (maybe contract with Snap-on or Mac). Invite a bunch of guys over to the house, demonstrate utility of said tools in various small tasks (auto or home-improvement). You have a party theme (serve beer), and maybe a nicely dressed (or not dressed!!) female to assist. At the end of the day, they buy tools.

The host gets a set of tools for his efforts (depends on sales), the company gets a good profit (have you ever checked out the pampered chef prices- outrageous!).

I don't know why this hasn't been done yet. I know guys don't particularly like to shop, but buying tools is a whole different story.

Usually, the host of the party gets a kitchen set for her trouble. I assume the host of tool parties would get a toolkit of some sort, depending on how many sales he generates.

The parent company gets the $$ profit from the tools.

Perhaps one way to get started is to combine forces with someone who already owns a pampered chef setup?

I know that whenever my wife goes to one of these parties, she feels obligated to buy something. The last party she went to was a longenberger (sp?) basket party, and she came home with a $70 basket. Someone is clearly making a killing off of these things...

Anyway, I have like No business knowledge, and no time, so I throw this out to the masses in the hope that it happens, because I would really like to see it work. If you think you may be interested in starting something up like this, go for it. If you are serious, I can probably throw in some startup capital, but not much in the way of time or business knowledge...

That's actually pretty good, especially if you could get in with the actual manufacturer of the tools (for those who don't know, many tools are made by the same company, and just use slightly differing dies to differentiate the brands). If it grows, it would be possible to build your own brand by contracting directly with the manufacturer.

Just need a name......something manly and strong :)

By similar to P1 I mean that there would be groups of cars but I would want to spin it off more towards using the cars as track cars at MSR or TMS and also using some winged race cars such as the new Formula Mazdas. However there would still be cars specifically for road use as well.
