    From MICHAEL SPEARMAN

    Published: Today

JENSON BUTTON’S flying start to the F1 season has won Michael Schumacher’s seal of approval.

The seven-time world beater has been mightily impressed after seeing the Brit roar to three wins in the opening four races.

That is according to Button’s team chief Ross Brawn, who guided the German supremo (below) to glory at Benetton and then Ferrari.

Brawn, 54, said: “I’ve spoken to Michael about Jenson.

“He always had a lot of respect for Jenson when we were at Ferrari but he has the highest respect for him now.”

Button’s shimmering display in Bahrain on Sunday doubled his championship lead to 12 points before F1 returns to Europe.

The Frome flier, 29, is in the form of his life having finally being handed a competitive car by tech genius Brawn after a few years in the F1 wilderness.

Brawn added: “Jenson is driving so well this year. He has been exceptional and he’s gaining in confidence.

“Jenson is realising that winning is something he can do. It’s not so easy that you could ever say winning comes naturally, but he knows he can do it when the environment is right.

“Even last year, with the car we had, there were races when I saw flashes of things that were special.

“But it’s putting it together on a consistent basis.

“All the guys in the team told me he was pretty special but I wasn’t lucky enough to see much of it last year because of our car.

“Now I am. He’s such a smooth driver. You watch him in the car and nothing’s happening because everything is under control.

“He’s not exciting the car. Everything is working well — it’s just exceptional.”

But Button and Brawn know the going will get tougher when McLaren and Ferrari wheel out what should be vastly-improved cars in Spain on Sunday week.

Button is still racing with the car he took to the season opener in Australia just weeks after the team was saved from the scrapheap by Brawn’s management-led buy-out.

The Monaco-based driver said: “Everyone’s got new bits coming. I’d say the McLarens seemed to be a bit more competitive last weekend.

“You can’t forget McLaren so it’s positive that we’ve got some points on them already.”

    Go Button!

Where does anyone say in that article that Button is a "shoe-in for the title"?.......

Another misleading POS article from the Sun [Assuming that was *their* headline and not yours......]

    Cheers,
    Ian

I think it said "Schu-in", just a play on words Ian, to sell more rags. Kinda like the Schumassa deal. More correct would be Vettelmacher, or Schuvettel.

True, here in the UK the Sun news paper is the crappiest make it up newspaper on the market next to the sleazy Sport newspaper. Its so simple and full of crap that only chavs (trailer park dwellers) buy it and seek it out to be true:D I am betting its Jims headline though, or someone who thinks like him.He really should work for them;)
I would say that Michael Schumacher has the highest respect for any F1 driver on the grid. Why would he not?

If you able to comprehend the simple concept of clicking on a link and being directed to their site that would be answered for you? :D

You "re-printed" the article so I didn't bother - Sorry.

As tifosiron said, I guess it's the Suns idea of a "clever" headline - If you're 10 years old and live in a trailer park.......

    Cheers,
    Ian

No joke. I gave very little credibility to those rumors...but now....who knows?
