So I’m considering either buying Both of these at once 2012 458 Italia with CF Buckets nice options 2019 Lusso with pano Passanger lcd other options V12 5000 miles or 21 SF90 900 miles carbon buckets nice options More or less same money one package vs other I have a F8, 812 and Roma already.. whatever I buy above I’m keeping What do you suggest? Why?
First, congrats for being in that enviable position. I would get the SF90. It's not apples to apples, but I kind of see the F8 you already have as duplicative with the 458 you're considering. The Lusso is a bit different than the Roma obviously, but unless you're legitimately looking for a 4-seat daily driver, I don't think it's different enough. But the SF90 is decidedly different than any car you already have with the hybrid drive train.
How in the world are those two options the same price?? Are you paying 300k for a 458 and 400k for a Lusso? Yikes Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
For myself, I would buy the 458 and the Lusso, and then sell the Lusso. Why? I prefer the look and sound of the 458 over the SF90. Also, it feels a bit smaller. I hate huge cars. Now if you had offered a third option, buy the 458 and save some cash, or even buy the 458 and a recent classic of your choice…
Sf90 all day. 458 is to similar to f8 and lusso is not nearly as good as f12 let alone 812 Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Lusso + 296GTS + a deposit on the next thing coming out. I think the Lusso may be the perfect daily. Probably some overlap with the 812 there, but it still gets my vote. 296 over the SF90 because I think the 296 is more usable. More storage space and almost the same performance. The Lusso is AWD so that scratches the AWD Ferrari itch that would be missing with the SF90 absence. I know that wasn't in your options but since I'm spending your money in this imaginary scenario I might as well say what I think the correct answer is.
Lusso is the only kind that is not replicated in other choices. But the fact you listed 458 and SF90 it may mean it is less of a concern to have cars of same purpose. I personally will pick 458 for the purpose of keeping it.
Keep the 812, sell all the rest and buy an Enzo. Take a wild guess...I was at Ferrari South Bay a while back, I stood next to a black Enzo, I nearly soiled myself. How anyone with deep pockets does not own one, I will never understand. G
Anyone that has a collection of Ferraris I would assume is a multi multi millionaire , so spend the 3 or so mill , and buy the sickest modern Ferrari in the world. The lusso is a station wagon for all intensive purposes. My other suggestion, buy a 512TR and a BBi 512, and keep the mid mounted weaponry. G
Alright.. kept the F8, bought the SF90, kept 812, bought black 458 also, coming next week. now considering either a 296 or Lusso or Huracan spider all in black to close out collection Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks to me as if you‘re missing a convertible. How about a 296 GTS? I personally don‘t see the point of having an SF90 and 296 GTB unless one of them is a convertible.
I personally think the Roma spyder fixes my criticism of the car, namely the terribly derivative C pillar.
Hmmm. OK. To each their own. To my eye, the Roma spider suffers the same curse as the various 911 cabriolets. Serious case of Kardashian ass.
You're 100% right and 100% wrong in regards to aesthetics. I would be a fool to argue what's the best song as well. *** The signature design element my eye is drawn to is the sharp C-pillar triangle. It's the essence iconography of the car, the same way I would say the cheese graters on the TR, the spoiler on the F40, or the three half circles on the 250. It's argued it exists also on the 458, except I guess folks have not seen why it's different on that car, I get it, many folks here never see these cars regularly in person. Why would Flavio take the Aston Martin Vantage triangle for the pillar? I get it if the designs came out simultaneously, but the signature triangle element was out for over two years before it appeared on the Roma. Like Toyota's shameless ripoff off of the SF90 headlights (that now populate many of their cars), we're seeing Chinese level copying. Not since the MR2 has Toyota been this obvious. I mean, other car manufacturers have been doing this for years on Ferrari; I'm disappointed to see it the other way around this time. Image Unavailable, Please Login It's not a bad aesthetic; just derivative. Like the MR2 (and Fierro) copied the Mondial, It's not like I think either are ugly—quite the contrary, Both the Vantage and Roma are breathtaking. Again, speaking for myself only - I want a Ferrari, not an Aston, and I feel the spyder rectifies that identity crisis for me. Image Unavailable, Please Login I sure as heck won't be reminded of a different car with the spyder, that's for sure.
Is it true the Roma was originally designed to be a Maserati but Fiat decided it was too good and made it a Ferrari?
