Looking to buy a Red on Tan 1997 or 1998 F355 spider, manual, between 5K 15K. Any reliable dealers in Illinois? Lake forest and continental auto sport seem to be the only two, any other sources?

    thanks!

Yes, you can also try Fox Valley Motor Cars (A.K.A. Lamborghini - Chicago) on North Av., (RT.64) Just past County Farm Rd. in West Chicago. They always have a great selection of all different automobile manufacturers.

    Check out their website: www.foxvalleymotorcars.com

Actually. I am going out there tomorrow to look at cars, and go for a nice little drive in my 308.

Do you have the web addresses for LFSC and Continental?

    www.lfsc.com

    www.continentalautosports.com

Those are the local ones. If you don't mind travelling, I can give you dozens of sources.

If you're looking at dealer cars, you may as well broaden the search to places throughout the midwest, like these guys:
    http://www.motorcars-intl.com/

Otherwise you could save money by looking privately. A lot of times it's easy to think you need to buy from a dealer for assurances. But the reality is, as long as all the work on the car has been documented and kept up to date, you're going to pay a premium with the dealer and receive no more of a guarantee than from an individual.

Not many to select from any of those links. Are their brokers who can locate a prestine 1997 or 1998 F355 Spyder ? Is their such a thing or should I expect all F355 have an issue here and their?

I was just at FVM last Saturday. They just sold a Red/Tan 355 Spider. It was in the shop getting Detailed. Well, those are about the only places around here that would have one. So, you'll now have to start looking around the country. See if someone will look at a car for you if you find one at an out of state dealership. If they say it looks good. Fly there. Buy it, and drive it home.

You can ask any of the local FCar dealers here to locate a car for you. But, you'll probably pay premuim for it. But give them a call. Sometimes they may even have a customer or know of somebody that has one that they may sell. You never know unless you ask....

And, I don't think you'll find a showroom new looking car. Unless it's been in a Museum or been stored since new. Then, you'll pay top dollar, and may have some issues if it hasn't been started up and driven. A '97-'99 car is already 7-9 years old.

Check out: www.ferraribuy.com and e-bay motors, to start with.

You can also try: www.dupontregistry.com They'll show the cars, and the links to many of the Ferrari and other Exotic car dealers in the Country. Check them out, and save the web addresses for the future.

    And: www.hemmings.com
